Boric acid is useful for many things. They even put it up in suppository form!

I'm going to have to put some in the pantry bc the roaches managed o get in. Brother sprayed peppermint oil in there but that will only deter them for awhile.

I was reading up on solutions for tackling roach infestations and, believe it or not, cats make formidable weapons to aid in the fight against the little buggers. Put those cats of yours to work!

In the past we've only had s,ome luck with the boric acid powder, tablets.., the roaches just sneered at them. We've tried Avion gel with pretty good luck. It's just a little pricey, if you could just buy one tube..... but it does work

The cats and dogs have been hunting the roaches but there are too many of them and they go places the cats and dogs can't reach.
Yesterday sucked. I was sick most of the day. My sister called for my birthday but my brother also picked up and then interrupted me, talked over me, and screamed at me for trying to talk so I hung up and messaged my sister an apology but said I didn't need to have him screaming at me. I took a nap. After the phone call my brother barged into my room to yap at me while I was taking medicine and I didn't respond. He called me an a$$hole and left. Haven't spoken with him since.
I then napped until after midnight. Mom hadn't realized it was my birthday and apologized. I got her something to eat and went back to bed. She made up for it today by going with me into town. We hung out at friend's house for a bit and I played with the kittens. Even got Mom to hold little Kelebrimbor. He's such a sweet little kitty. Friend's grandfather rolled up and laid on the horn trying to get him to come out and then drove off. He did that about 3 times while we were there. If my friend gets the house deeper into town the old man won't be able to get away with that. Too close to the police station. If he rolls up and pulls that crap like he usually does, the cops will be able to hear it from the station. It can also be heard from the library, post office, high school, banks, etc.
Friend's mom had been there before we got there. She'd come into his house, went to the laundry room, took his wet clothes out of the washing machine, threw them on the floor, and then put her stuff in the machine. So now my friend has to wash his clothes again. Hellbeast couldn't even be bothered to put his stuff in the dryer. She doesn't even knock before entering, just barges right in.
Went into Walmart for a couple of things, grabbed Subway sammich for Mom, and then headed home.
Just ate and am resting.

While touring Fallingwater in Mill Run, PA, I met a Christian couple from Clearwater Beach, FL, who had just suffered through Helene and decided to get out before Milton hit. They lost most of what they had in the first one and were prepared to go back with nothing left. No flood insurance and the aren’t sure Allstate was going to be the good-hands people they profess to be.
Yes, we got into politics and found mine aligned with theirs but the amazing thing was their positive attitudes and concern for my health and the suggestions to help me in spite of what Mother Nature had in store for them. Salt of the earth, these people, and I am praying for their safety and that of their property.

From what I’ve seen and family in the area, the wind came from land towards the gulf since landfall was south of Tampa Bay. Trees down and no power but no storm surge, but did receive about 10-14 inches of rain. So it was the best possible outcome considering the location and severity of the storm.

I kept hoping the storm would downgrade before landfall. I saw that the skies were purple in some areas before and after the storm.
I'm not good at holding grudges so I forgave my brother even though he never apologized. He is rude and disrespectful to me so often I don't think he even noticed that I hung up and probably didn't care. He has main character syndrome and doesn't think about other people's feelings. He was annoying me today in a store talking about how there was a time he had a group project with a friend and he claimed he did his part separately at the last minute and turned it in and how the friend was freaking out bc he was waiting for my brother to do his portion. I remember the incident-- my brother never did the work and the friend had to do the whole project by himself. The whole point of a group project was to work on it together but my brother refused to do it. I remember bc I felt bad for the other kid and I understood exactly how he felt bc it happened to me every time I had a group project. Other students never did their part and I always got stuck doing it on my own. But it was worse for this kid bc my brother was supposed to be his friend. My brother didn't believe in doing homework though.
Anyway, went to the store for milk and water. On the way home some ******** on a side road ignored the stop and rolled right through in front of me. He cut off me and an oncoming vehicle. I had to slam on the brakes and come to a complete halt. I laid on my horn and flipped him off. Then I realized the other cop he cut off said "Sheriff Department" on the side. Cop had been trying to make a left turn but he went straight and turned on his lights behind the truck. Instant karma.

Well, that is what they are raised for.
I dont like the taste.., but I only really like grain fe anythhingborganic or grass fed, just doesnt taste good to me.
And I was raised on beef, my dad owned a slaughterhouse and sold beef.
Wish I had paid attention and learned how to cut it up.
The whole experience was very educational but out of respect for those who may find the pictures offensive, I’ll refrain from posting the more graphic ones.
I don’t like the taste of bison, too lean, etc., but keeping the wife happy is important. She got the tongue to take home and I had to try raw heart and liver.
Sorry for the dupe post. Poor ol’ Penny roasted to perfection.I went to heat up something in the microwave last night for dinner and realized it was off. No lights. I checked and it was plugged in. I moved the plug to different outlets. Still nothing. I don't think we've even had that thing for a full 6 months but I think roaches may have gotten into it somehow-- despite sealing it up as best as I could with dust screen. So now we need yet another one. I'm hoping its just a fuse and maybe one of the other old microwaves might have a working fuse or I can get it replaced. Friend said he'd come look at it at some point. Really going to have to get my brother to help me to clean up so the roaches don't have places to nest/hide. The boric acid tablets have been helping a little but not enough. I've tried traps and spray too but no luck with those. My dogs eat the roaches so I don't want them to get poisoned.
Meanwhile, my brother woke me up today wanting me to drive him to get his bloodwork done. I declined so he drove himself only to find they aren't doing bloodwork today and he has to come back Monday. About an hour later Mom woke me up wanting food. I'm going to have to get some stuff I can cook in the air fryer and on the stove until we get microwave fixed/replaced.
