Thanks Jeffrey. Good to hear. I will ask but have a couple of questions like 1) I assume it's battery operated and wonder if it is rechargeable externally (like an iPhone Mag Charger) or if it has a long-life lithium-ion battery that eventually will have to be replaced, and 2) if it needs to be manually switched on (per the TV infomercials) or is there an automatic mode.
My wife thinks the battery lasts ten years, there is an app that you use on your phone which downloads your info every day and there is a strategy to adjust your level of the implant settings based on what the data suggests. There is a remote that you turn on when you go to bed, it would be just like adding a step to your nighttime routine, I believe a simple on off scenario.

@Zanne, did you ever get your pump going again? (My apologies if I missed it during one of your posts.)

Getting myself primed and ready for tendon repair surgery on my left ankle so that I can walk again.

Also, the rat-bastard of a pulmonologist I visited says I've got sleep apnea and he suggested that I opt for the Inspire implant. Other than screws in my feet and shoulder, I don't have any implants so I may as well consider this one. The Inspire website had little information about how it works, but the rat-bastard says they implant an electrode into the nerve that causes your tongue to move forward and, for each breath you take, it pulses that nerve jutting your tongue forward just enough to prevent the apnea. Cool stuff and he says you don't even feel your tongue twitch!

Enjoy your weekend y'all!

(Note to self: I think I am beginning to channel @Zanne! Love you girlfriend!)

(Did I tell you that my 25 year old Panasonic 65" plasma gave up the ghost? Finally, my prayers have been answered and now I can look for a mini LED or OLED replacement. I am thinking Sony mini LED. Any suggestions would be appreciated)
Didn't see your tv question... it's going to be hard to replace the quality of that plasma. I have a 50 inch panasonic plasma, then upgraded to 60 inch samsung (last plasma made) upgraded to 77 inch 4k lg c2. That was rated as best at the time. If you can get 4k streams, it's excelent, better than the plasma, but if you have 1080 stream, it will upscale and still looks really good. The problem is local type channels are still old 720, and there ok, we watch a lot of them. Just not the 4k...quality, I use a roku ultra, and it does a better job at upscaling. It all depends on what your incomming video is.

Thank Ludington. Yep, the Panasonic plasma, even at 1080i (or is it "p") has the darkest blacks of all. Although it has a great picture, I have an OLED computer monitor and hate that it has to refresh itself so dang often and there is some "burn in" not that the plasma didn't but at least you could have the set attempt to overwrite the "burn in".

I do have 4k streams with my Roku Ultra devices also and use it quite a bit in the home theater/man cave which has a 4K Sony VPL-WV995ES Laser Projector and a 120" screen to watch it on. This replacement set is for the Living Room.

I agree with that 100%. My father in law believes in the quick fix, and I don't. He had some issues recovering from the surgery to install the implant, I don't know if he feels the struggle was worth it or not.
Agree with both you and Twowaxhack. I am, however, a proponent of the quick fix, mother's-little-helper-sort-of-pill if you will, but will give this much consideration before going under the knife.

So far my lg hasn't gotten any burn in, and it was rated for having the best blacks.. that's the c2 model oled, but now I see they have improved with the c4 and g4 models , much faster refresh rate.
But I don't know what else is out there now. I don't really want to look.
I could never justify another 3k tv. At this point.
Toms guide is usually a great starting point though.

My Dad's business was in Downey for 45 years. It was on the N/e corner of Rosemead and Terredell, just south of Downey Road.
We lived behind reeves middle school, off Noren and Tweedy.

Oh, I was too young as well. I had a friend who got his learner's permit. When he got his real picture license, he gave me his paper permit. I changed the "Don Teuton" to "Don Leuton" in pencil. I figured them dumb cops would never figure this out!

Gawd, was I stupid!

In 1967 we were fond of cruising the Sunset Strip. I had a 1962 Austin Healey 3000 and my friend had a Jag XKE of some vintage. Those were some fun days!

On the health front, I saw an orthopedic surgeon for my left ankle. Two options: Option one is to wear a custom made Arizona brace that I would need to wear for life or option two is to undergo repair surgery which would involve repairing the tendon and fusing a couple of bones so my foot wouldn’t go flat and over-pronate the recovery from which would take a year. Choices, choices

Go for the surgery. It is "one and done!"

I had a bone spur, where the foot doc recommended that I wear those special orthopedic pads for the rest of my life. He told me it there was also a 30 minute surgery option if I wanted to go that route. He sent me to a specialist out of Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, a 4 hour detour from start to finish, and i was walking the next day. He also did a plantar fasciitis stretch while I was under, and allows me to walk 3-4 miles a day.

He said this bone spur looked like a thorn, pointing straight down from the heel. Every time I walked, that spur would protrude into my heel more and more. What a painful little bugger.

I've read it's good to wrap some electric tape around those wagos, to make sure those levers don't pop up. Especially being around vibration.
Don't know how true that is. But it might be a good precaution.
But glad to see your making progress.
Yeah, when I find where the hell my electrical tape is hiding, I will go back and wrap them.

havasu, that bone spur sounds awful!

I forgot to comment on TVs, but there are some LG OLED tvs on display in Samsclub and the picture is absolutely gorgeous. I've got a Hisense QLED and it's pretty good too, but the OLED is spectacular. I've heard there is ULED, and other forms of OLED (I forget what the thing was-- maybe nano or something?) but they are expensive. Sony also makes OLED but they are super expensive. As an aside, LG makes a soundbar/speaker system that lets you tweak the sound projection to mimic the experience of having multiple speakers. It will bounce the sound so that it sounds like things are to left, right, above, or behind you and stuff. We used to have a Sony surround sound system running when Dad was alive. We still have the box for it but the speakers fell, wires got broken, and I have no idea how to use it.

Today I learned that the sharkbites couplings I got only connect pex to pex and not pex to pvc. I was mad at myself for not realizing that sooner. None of the local stores had any 1" pex fittings at all so we had to nix the 1" PEX and go with PVC instead. The pipes still look like a cluster, but they are more efficient than the old setup. Although at least I learned what fitting is needed to bridge liquidtite conduit together. I know I actually have some of the conduit AND the couplings somewhere but I can't seem to find them. I have so much stuff that I can't find. LOL. Really need to start organizing things.

The conduit clamps I saw in the store didn't seem like they would work to hold the conduit in place and I remembered that we have pipe straps. I went to go get them out of the bin, saw some black widow spiders in the bin and went to tell my friend that the black widows could keep the straps. I then suggested screwing the zip ties (which are very thick) to the boards and using those to tether the flexible conduit. That worked out well.

I got distracted while typing this up and lost my train of thought.
