I forgot to comment on TVs, but there are some LG OLED tvs on display in Samsclub and the picture is absolutely gorgeous. I've got a Hisense QLED and it's pretty good too, but the OLED is spectacular. I've heard there is ULED, and other forms of OLED (I forget what the thing was-- maybe nano or something?) but they are expensive. Sony also makes OLED but they are super expensive. As an aside, LG makes a soundbar/speaker system that lets you tweak the sound projection to mimic the experience of having multiple speakers. It will bounce the sound so that it sounds like things are to left, right, above, or behind you and stuff. We used to have a Sony surround sound system running when Dad was alive. We still have the box for it but the speakers fell, wires got broken, and I have no idea how to use it.
We got a Sony K-65X90 mini QLED from Amazon and it will be delivered on Friday just in time to watch "COPS" in glorious 4K! Amazon has 65" inch sets priced from $400 to almost $4000. I couldn't get myself to opt for the less expensive one for some reason, but I didn't get the most expensive either.

Ortho doc gave me, sold me actually, a Velcro strap-on (ankle brace you perverts!) and it has taken the pain completely away. We are still opting for the "one and done" (thanks Havasu) but want to wait until the weather gets cooler.

Yeah, when I find where the hell my electrical tape is hiding, I will go back and wrap them.

havasu, that bone spur sounds awful!

Today I learned that the sharkbites couplings I got only connect pex to pex and not pex to pvc. I was mad at myself for not realizing that sooner. None of the local stores had any 1" pex fittings at all so we had to nix the 1" PEX and go with PVC instead. The pipes still look like a cluster, but they are more efficient than the old setup. Although at least I learned what fitting is needed to bridge liquidtite conduit together. I know I actually have some of the conduit AND the couplings somewhere but I can't seem to find them. I have so much stuff that I can't find. LOL. Really need to start organizing things.

The conduit clamps I saw in the store didn't seem like they would work to hold the conduit in place and I remembered that we have pipe straps. I went to go get them out of the bin, saw some black widow spiders in the bin and went to tell my friend that the black widows could keep the straps. I then suggested screwing the zip ties (which are very thick) to the boards and using those to tether the flexible conduit. That worked out well.

I got distracted while typing this up and lost my train of thought.
Be careful on that organizing.. I did that, built drawers to put stuff in, reorged all my plumbing , electrical, screws, nails... oddball stuff. Sounds good ? I can't find anything now. I know I have it, but where did I org it too ? Perfectly logical when I did it... now, not so much.

Have you ever spent twenty minutes looking for that danged screwdriver only to find out you were sitting on it?

In 1967 we were fond of cruising the Sunset Strip. I had a 1962 Austin Healey 3000 and my friend had a Jag XKE of some vintage. Those were some fun days!

On the health front, I saw an orthopedic surgeon for my left ankle. Two options: Option one is to wear a custom made Arizona brace that I would need to wear for life or option two is to undergo repair surgery which would involve repairing the tendon and fusing a couple of bones so my foot wouldn’t go flat and over-pronate the recovery from which would take a year. Choices, choices
The burning question is, who is going to “foot” the bill?” 😉

Yeah, I do the organizing and misplace things quite frequently. It made sense when I did it but later I can't remember where I put things. This is why my dad ***** labeled everything. He had sticky notes explaining what was in each drawer or bin and even labeled every cable to say what it went to. I've never been that organized.

YES! Or its in my pocket! I wear men's pants to have nice big pockets. Women's pants will sometimes have fake pockets (which piss me off to no end), pockets sewn shut and/or very small pockets. As an aside, I was once looking for my cellphone, while using the light on my cellphone to look for it. Derp.

Anyway, went to shower and the water cut out in my shower a few minutes in. Not sure why. Water is working in toilets and sink and eventually came back to work from tub spout but I was already dried off and will check the cistern.

I forgot to mention that I still have a 240lb 58" Sony projection TV with built-in speakers in the front room. Not hooked up to anything. Had the motherboard replaced in it years ago to get it working after it broke. Sears came through and had the guy fix it even though it wasn't under warranty anymore and it was less than buying a new TV at the time. I really need to get rid of it but the hoarder in me wants someone to haul it off to use it or to at least harvest parts.

LOL, I still have the mirror from the one I owned. Ivtore it apart before hauling it away, like you said holding what I could. Real nice mirror inside. Don't remember what else inept from it. Probably the glass screen too.

Ooh, there's a mirror inside? I wanted to get the magnets out of the speakers but I need to see what the mirror looks like. Now I really want to take that sucker apart-- but it is massive. It almost comes up to my shoulders.

Yesterday's Job: cleaning out two bathroom vanity drains and educating my senior citizen client TO STOP TRYING TO SAVE WATER AND LET THE DAMN WATER RUN WHEN USING YOUR SINK!

Y'all have seen it. The buildup of soap scum, hair bits, toothpaste effluent, etc. that just builds up in the sink drain into a slimy festering blockage of gunk. If you let the water run after use--after shaving, after brushing your teeth or washing your hands or face, most of that stuff just goes down the drain instead of collecting all over everything.

Though I'm not a plumber and don't snake drains, bathroom vanity sink drains (only from my experience) rarely need it. I tell them to let the water run during and after use. You can save money by conserving water, and pretend you are helping the environment, but if they called a plumber, it would be far more costly to have them show up than to have me show up. There goes those savings on the water bill! And please, don't throw chemicals down the drain either! They just sit in the trap and don't affect where the problem is...

My dad actually brought a decorative Hookah back from Egypt. Seeing people puffing off the same mouthpiece though.. ewww.
Took Mom into town- she wanted to do something in the bank. I sat in the truck while she went in and joked to her that I'd man the getaway car. Then went to the doctor's office to setup an appointment with diabetes specialist to discuss infusion set options. After that I picked up mail and we went to Alexandria. Stopped in a store called Ross. Mom looked at clothes. I looked around at the random furniture, pillows, and stuff. I got a little tool bag that I will use for some plumbing tools. Got my friend a small box bc he said he needed one to store stuff from his pockets when he gets home from work. Also found one of those cushion/pillow things to help you sit up in bed while reading-- he'd been wanting one for his wife and they were all super expensive online and I found one under $20. Stopped at Samsclub to get water and crackers. Ate at the Chinese place with Mom. Popped in to see my friend and give him the stuff we got. Went to Walmart for groceries and then dropped some more stuff off at friend's house. His wife is now eating the potatoes I got for them and has been using the new pillow thing.

Got back home and unloaded groceries. I'm currently resting.

Oh, AT&T said they would send out a technician to try to fix stuff on the 12th. They are in no rush to fix my phoneline.

By any chance did your mom come out of the bank in a Richard Nixon mask? IMG_4316.jpeg

What, pray tell, do you do in your spare time?🙄

Aww. Thanks. I'm currently (no pun intended) trying to figure out how to wire Power Relay MK2P-I AC 220V Coil DPDT (which can handle up to 250v) to a float switch and the 230v 6.1A pump. And need to figure out what sort of container would be needed to hold the setup. I don't think a 1 gang box would fit it. I really want to change the switch setup for my cistern.

Decided to rest today. I've had to feed kitties, cook for Mom, and refill the waterer for the kitties though.

I installed an outlet for my next-door neighbor. He’s getting an electric car that has a built-in charger so he only needed the outlet. Because the car will be plugged in and out repeatedly, I opted for an industrial grade outlet which cost about $75 and is made in the USA, as opposed to the nine dollar version they sell at Home Depot, all wired with #6 THHN, and per the cars requirements is fed with a 50 amp breaker. All the wiring is in 1 inch PVC conduit.
