Horses and bulls have a much narrower base for their testicals so the tying off method can work. Cats have a much wider base so that method will NOT work on them. Vets usually make a very small incision on male cats to snip things and take out the sacs, but leave the exterior intact. The price depends on location and where you have it done. Someone told me its over $500 in his area. For rabies vaccine + neutering, my local vet charges $189. In Lake Charles there is a spay and neuter clinic that charges around $55 but you have to schedule an appointment months in advance and the cats are not kept overnight.

I should have all of the parts I need now for fixing the pump, but I am going to try to gather all of the fittings and stuff together tomorrow to make sure I have everything on my list. Was going to do it today but my guts aren't cooperating with me and I need to stay near the bathroom.

I took enough Pepto that I was able to take my truck in for oil change today. They also fixed my tire for free. Something was leaking on the valve stem and they replaced a part and decided not to charge.

When I had my brake pads done by my friend yesterday he discovered that the last time I had my brake pads done the a-holes only did them on 3 of the tires. They didn't do them on the front passenger tire so the pads were completely gone. He also discovered that the K-frame on front driver side is bent-- that's the side that got hit by the drunk driver. The K-frame thing should have been replaced but it clearly wasn't and my wheel sits too close to the frame and rubs stuff. It also makes the CV axle fit a little bit loose. I honestly don't know if it can be fixed and its too late to get insurance to cover it since the wreck was in 2018. Just wish that one of the vehicle experts had noticed it before my friend did.

I read that it's still possable, as things can be delayed until after the election. But on e he is in,, who know how it would work.
I appreciate what you say. My point was that I think the makeup of the country that has occurred over several tens of decades has changed the nation as a whole from what it was when I was young, dumb and full of............

I feel the nation, as a whole, doesn't value the Constitution and what the country once stood for.

Dammit man! I need a drink!

Oh, absolutly agree, as I've said in the past, it's all about the money and power. (For all of them in the govt. Well there may be a few that are trying to do the correct thing but) They want to be rich and (well not sure what the power gets them , other than to feel superior to others)
As far as the presidency, I wouldn't want that job no matter the salary.

Early voting starts in my state in October.

Speaking of voting, my power company's board members voted in a new CEO who immediately gave himself a huge raise-- we're talking nearly tripling his own salary-- and then saying that they have to raise customer's rates to make up for it. And cut back on the already sparse maintenance for stuff. We've had multiple outages that could have been avoided if they'd done maintenance. I was kvetching to Havasu earlier in texts bc my power went out again last night and didn't come back on until about 6:55pm.

Went to McDonalds for breakfast and had pre-ordered on the app only to find that the a-hole manager canceled all of the breakfast orders and refused to give anyone the food so we had to get lunch if we wanted anything and then she pulled one of my doubles out and replaced it with a single (even though I'd ordered and paid for a double) and let my food sit until it got cold before she handed it to me and was incredibly rude to all of the customers. There were a few other customers in there with me who had their orders canceled. One of them also had power out bc she has the same power company. She told me a tornado hit out west of us.

Went to the hardware store to get some stuff to try to fix up the generator. Went to Walmart for some stuff to clean water out of fuel tanks. Got back home and helped Mom detangle her hair (it had gotten very matted) and then unloaded and organized stuff in the truck. Got some in the workshop, some stuff brought in to the house, some stuff put in bins in the truck, and some stuff out to the shed.

Havasu has been reminding me to get the generator working so we can at least run fridge and freezer. So glad the freezer has a fast freeze function.

I sweated my behind off out there-- it was humid as hell.

Currently drying off and cooling off with Ginger on my lap. She's a sweet kitty.

@Zanne, did you ever get your pump going again? (My apologies if I missed it during one of your posts.)

Getting myself primed and ready for tendon repair surgery on my left ankle so that I can walk again.

Also, the rat-bastard of a pulmonologist I visited says I've got sleep apnea and he suggested that I opt for the Inspire implant. Other than screws in my feet and shoulder, I don't have any implants so I may as well consider this one. The Inspire website had little information about how it works, but the rat-bastard says they implant an electrode into the nerve that causes your tongue to move forward and, for each breath you take, it pulses that nerve jutting your tongue forward just enough to prevent the apnea. Cool stuff and he says you don't even feel your tongue twitch!

Enjoy your weekend y'all!

(Note to self: I think I am beginning to channel @Zanne! Love you girlfriend!)

(Did I tell you that my 25 year old Panasonic 65" plasma gave up the ghost? Finally, my prayers have been answered and now I can look for a mini LED or OLED replacement. I am thinking Sony mini LED. Any suggestions would be appreciated)

Blue, good luck on the tendon repair.
I dont know about that implant, I'd review the crap out of it. See how others review it. I've worn a cpap mask for many years and you get used to it. I just don't know if it would even fix mine, mine comes more from my nose, than my toungue.

Do you know that if required to use a CPAP machine, you can file for emergency medical necessity for electricity and in my area, will save you 30% off your electric bill?

Going to have to look into that one... never heard of that.. kind of like a secret discount... I'm betting they don't offer it.

If I could return to those days of yesteryear when I lived in SoCal (Inglewood and Downey from 1963-1967), I may consider moving back just to get the discount.

It looks like Virginia has something to that effect, but it does not include a discount. They promise to get your power back quickly, whatever that means, and seem to be offering a battery backup system if available whatever that means.

CPAPs aren't too bad. Louisiana does not have the same discounts or rules for it though. Mom uses a CPAP and has for about 2 decades.

I would not want to get the implant thing. Too much could go wrong.

Blueskyhigh, pump is not fixed yet, but we are working on it. Got too hot in that metal shed and my friend got overheated. I was overheating outside of the shed and that thing is like an oven. I kept telling him to come out and cool off and he kept saying he wanted to keep going until he stood up and felt dizzy and said "Ok, I'm done". and felt bad that he didn't get more done. I told him his health was more important. We spent a few hours working on it. I didn't have my fittings organized bc the bins fell over and stuff fell out and I just threw stuff together. Needed some fittings I couldn't find and then realized the fitting I wanted wasn't even available in the stores. Went to the store and bought stuff but forgot one of the main fittings. Derp. found some other cool stuff. Friend teased me for saving an outdoor junction box-- said I just had to hoard it-- until we needed it. LOL. As an aside, he didn't know that smurf tubing is actually a thing and didn't know there were fittings for it. I'm going to spend tomorrow gathering adapters and stuff. I told my friend to take the day off and rest bc he can work on stuff Monday and that will give me time to organize and make sure I have all the parts.

Used the Wago Lever nuts rated for 10awg wire and used the new 10/2wg wire .

This is where we are on the plumbing side- new tank is in with a tank tee and we are trying to sort the pipes to and from the pump

Also need to run some pipe after the tee to connect to the main waterlines. Gonna have to loop some pex around.

Got a birthday present for friend's daughter, grabbed some stuff at Samsclub, got friend some new pants bc all of his have holes in them and his work shorted him on his paycheck and he's still waiting to get his full check. Forgot a crucial fitting when I was shopping so I will have to go back for it.

Stopped by briefly to see the birthday girl and hug her. She's such a sweet kid.

Got home and Mom immediately wanted food. Fortunately we still had leftover chinese food.

I've read it's good to wrap some electric tape around those wagos, to make sure those levers don't pop up. Especially being around vibration.
Don't know how true that is. But it might be a good precaution.
But glad to see your making progress.

Small world! I lived in Downey from 1985-1999. Lakewood before that. Born at the Bellflower Kaiser.

My father in law has the Inspire, took a while for him to get used to. It works for him, but ask your doctor for the percentage of people it doesn't work for. I feel like it was kinda high if they are honest with you about it, if I remember correctly.

Thanks Jeffrey. Good to hear. I will ask but have a couple of questions like 1) I assume it's battery operated and wonder if it is rechargeable externally (like an iPhone Mag Charger) or if it has a long-life lithium-ion battery that eventually will have to be replaced, and 2) if it needs to be manually switched on (per the TV infomercials) or is there an automatic mode.
