This is the toaster https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BQBHFHNX/

It was in the 30s this morning but not freezing. One inch of snow shuts stuff down here, but no snow yet. We don't usually get it.

Had to take my oldest cat to the vet this morning. Something bit his ear and it was infected and leaking pus. He wouldn't let me clean it. Vet got more pus out, cleaned it up, and gave him an antibiotic shot. Cat was so well behaved. No fussing. No struggling. Quieter than a mouse. My brother forgot he was in the truck when we got home. Gave him canned food and he sat on my lap after the vet visit (the cat, not my brother).

Got a bacon egg & cheese biscuit for Mom for breakfast. Her sugar hasn't been good but its not the worst. At least she's feeling better.

My friend told us the wedding date & asked me to help come up with some decoration ideas. I hate weddings & suck at wedding decor. I think it's a waste of $. But I will help as much as I can. I've asked them the theme but haven't gotten a response yet. Also suggested going to dollar tree to look for some stuff. They usually have party supplies. Need to figure out if there is a place that rents out chairs for cheap. Need at least 70 bc that's how many people he expects to come. Will be an outdoor wedding in his back yard. I know my friend likes red & black. His fiance likes goth. They both like anime. I just hope I won't be expected to wear a dress. We'll probably bring Mom's wheelchair along so she won't have to use a regular chair.

I have had ideas on some places to take couples photos of them in my yard. There is a low branch that runs horizontal and has a dip in it. Looks like you can sit on it (but I'd be worried it might fall off). Friend remembers it and liked my suggestion of them pretending to sit on it or sitting on it with a support under it. They paid to have some professional engagement photos done and whoever did it was awful. I'm not the best photographer but I can do better.

I'm open to any suggestions people have. LOL.

Thanks for that, Zanne. Let the hunt begin! 🤔

Went to visit my elderly aunt on Cspe Cod for Christmas. Had to replace the kitchen faucet on Christmas Eve. Day after Christmas changed the cartridge in her bathroom faucet. It never ends!
Reminds me when I used to visit my MIL. I would no more than enter her house when she popped a to-do list in my face! :0)

Retired IT - building my own PCs and servers for 10 years (as a hobby) and an OCD for audio-video equipment.

I routinely get hit up for PC/AV/Network tech support/advice when visiting along with occasional urgent phone requests...

Been there, done that... now being retired, I say the technology has passed me and I wouldn't want to screw something up. But I still help... guess I have no willpower to leave them helpless.

Well, in reality my father (aged 101) used to do this stuff for his sister (aged 94) but is no longer able to. My aunt has no other support structure around, and in a condo that's 20 years old now, there's always something that needs something and when I visit a few times a year, I have to catch up with things.

Much of my handyman business, not by design but simply as it's evolved, has turned out to be working for single moms, widow, handicapped and elderly or some combination. These are people who don't have anyone else they can rely on and are grateful for the work I do. So grateful I often get tipped. Sometimes I have to turn away an offering because it's simply too much for too little, and I'm not that kind of guy.

It is sweet of you to help your aunt out. The last time I visited my sister, she'd just moved in to a new house and needed to clean stuff out of her old house to rent it out. I went over and helped. I down bathroom shelves, cleaned the floor, cleaned the tub, cleaned the vanity, cleaned the toilet, etc. I helped her clean and pack up stuff to take out. She was getting rid of a wooden closet rod and a small step stool so I snagged them.

My dad's mom apparently expected people who came over to do stuff for her. The first time my dad brought Mom home (before they were married) to meet grandma, my grandmother started in about how the curtains needed to be cleaned and dishes needed to be washed (she lived alone so they were all her own dishes). My dad just said "She doesn't know how to clean" and his mother dropped it.

I found that somewhere between 2 & 3 on the new toaster is a good setting for the toast.

I dug out my rosewood jewelry box from Singapore and pulled out some pieces I thought my friend's fiance might like. She liked some of the rings that no longer fit me and the gold spider brooch with red glass on it. She also really liked the blue brooch and the blue dangly anklets. She decided those will be her "something blue" at the wedding. We're going to use the anklets as shoulder jewelry. She said the theme is "romantic gothic" (no clue what that is) and the colors are red, black, white & gold.

Today I checked mom's blood sugar a few times, went to samsclub to get water & cat food, grabbed Chinese take out, and cooked a burger for Mom. She was hungry a few hours after eating the chinese food & her blood sugar was down to 40.

I've got some post-nasal drip and a cough but its not too bad yet. I meant to call my uncle but its a bit too late and he should be going to sleep soon. He fell and broke his hip just before Xmas. He was released from the rehab hospital yesterday and one of the grandkids is supposed to go see him.

If it doesn't rain tomorrow i'm going to try to take the dogs for a walk and then get some hay and sweet feed for the cows.

Is the toaster browning the bread nicely on both sides?

I like a toaster oven myself, some things you just need to toast lying down. Like a single slice of pizza , or warming up an apple fritter, or 1 piece of chicken. But hard to beat a good stand alone toaster, that looks like a nice one. Would be Nice to have both, but to much counter space needed.
