Went out to lunch for Mexican food yesterday. 2 tacos, ala carte, was $12.00, and a Tostada Supreme, with green chili pork, was $21.00. Ice tea was $4 each. With tax and tip, that was a Bill was $50! Not worth $20! We then and went to see "The Holdovers" at the local theater. $21 each for seniors. There went $100 for a 3 hour outing!

Not trying to one up you but last Monday my 2 1/2 yr old lab needed knee surgery ($4800), this morning my 3 yr old kitchen aid fridge is warm!

Kids are kids, regardless of age. My grown kids now have kids of their own, so I wish I only had a couple little kids to buy gifts for! Oh, then you have to buy for their significant others, so it costs me $4000- $5000 every Christmas....and I'm on a fixed income. I shouldn't complain. I get a $25 increase in my Social Security, but my medical is also increasing $10 a month, leaving me a $15 raise every month. FJB!

We have cut way back on christmas... those big bills for presents are gone. Maybe a small something for the grandkids. But we say basically, don't buy anything for us and we don't buy for you. Just give us a hug and some conversation.

Yeah, it was a literal kidney stone that passed. I passed about 2 of them the other day. They are very small though. My mother didn't even feel that huge kidney stone that got her sick in the first place. So, I don't know what it is with us, but the kidney stone pain is annoying but not as bad. I could feel the stones moving around and going down but it was minor pain/irritation. It was hurting more up higher near the kidneys but also combined with some chronic back pain. Having had chronic pain and migraines, some things don't bother me quite as much.

Mom's sugar was too low and then too high. Low was about 70 something and high was 400 something. Need to get things worked out and get her on a schedule. We both slept in today. Then she couldn't make up her mind about what she wanted to eat. She always wants stuff we don't have. The store was out of stuff that I wanted to get to cook. No decent hamburger meat. I hope Mom will listen to the specialist on wednesday. In the past she disregarded everything the specialist said because she's had diabetes since the 80s and thinks she knows everything and refused to let go of old disproven concepts/beliefs. She also changes her mind about what she likes and doesn't like multiple times per day.

Been catching up watching the reboot of Quantum Leap. Didn't realize that season 2 was airing and I missed season 1 so I'm streaming season 1. Think I'm on episode 3 or something now. I do like the show and the characters thus far. Sitting here now with cats piled on me and waiting for the half hour to be up (after taking my thyroid meds) to eat a salad.

Re: FJB - way better than a traitor trying to overthrow our Constitution.

The soothing lights inside the machine changing from soft pastel pink to robin's egg blue and then to garter snake green were an interesting touch to the Siemens Healthineers machine was an interesting touch apparently to calm a person.

Ugh. Contrast is never fun. I still remember having to get the contrast injected and then lie down with my arms in funky uncomfortable positions while they took 20 minutes to do the scans. Then wait several hours, get on a treadmill, get contrast again, and do it all over. Now the scans are much faster but none of the times had any sort of soothing lights. Last time I had a cardiac stress test they decided to use a chemical instead of treadmill to raise my heartrate and it was awful. Gave me a migraine for hours. I was ready to puke.

Early this morning before sunrise I had the urge to check on Mom. She was sitting up reaching for the phone to page me. Didn't feel well. Sugar was 35 when I checked it. Gave her a Relion emergency sugar chewable thingy and some of my sandwich. Her sugar later was 116.

My brother unexpectedly got the day off (co-worker asked to take his shift for some reason) so I was able to get the wheelbearing replaced today. Previously the dealership charged over $600 just for labor, took 3 days, and screwed it up- damaged CV axle and didn't put the bearing in properly so it came loose within a month-- but they refused to honor their work and I didnt' want to deal with them again. Local tire shop finished in under an hour and charged $75 before tax for the labor. Now only problem is I think the speed sensor on that tire went out (prior to being worked on by the local place) bc VSA and ABS warning lights are on. Came on last week.

But the truck no longer makes horrible noises and I feel very relieved. Going to take a nap soon bc I didn't sleep well last night worrying about waking up in time to take the truck in.
