You talk about your back a lot, do you know what is wrong with it ?
I too have a bad back, where I have to wave the white flag also... but I've had all the tests... surgeon wants to cut me open from both sides to replace things... I read bad things about that type of surgery.. so for me, I'll be putting that off as long as possable. (Pinched nerve, and a spondylitis)

I dated a stripper named “ candy “ and ever since then my back hasn’t been right.

I picked up Mom from the hospital on the 7th. Had to take her back to ER on the 8th. Got her home that evening after she ultimately pulled her own stent out (urologist said for doctors to pull it but one refused & the other at a different hospital couldn't find it-- it had a very thin thread string dangling from it). No pain or bleeding so they fed her and sent her home. She was craving apple juice and drank a bunch of it (no sugar added but apparently enough to give too much sugar).

First glucose meter I got wouldn't work. 2nd one did but said "Hi". Finally got it to give a number: 489. She took more insulin and it was down to 392. Still needs to come down to at least 130. But that's progress. I'll have to check again in awhile and if it doesn't come down enough, will have to take her to the hospital to get it down. At least she's lucid now. She was not this morning. My brother had to get her blood taken and test for her and then had to get her to take her insulin bc she wasn't cooperating with me. She kept yelling at me instead and then would drop her hands and look like she was falling asleep. At least I can prick her finger now but I hate doing it.

I'm exhausted. Didn't help that my guts decided to revolt on me and I had to keep running to the porcelain throne. Better now but feel run down.

I hope you were able to get her number down. I'm a type 2 diabetic, and if I ever saw a number at almost 500, I would have to go immediatly to the ER.
I myself am pretty happy if I see a 130 number. I think I can count on one hand the times I've seen it under 100. Normally I'm about 155 after breakfast, and if I'm good , I'm down in the 130 range after dinner. So, those big numbers you reported are pretty scary, I'd watch them as close as I could. I realize it's hard for you with what you report about her. But hang in there ! Hope your report for today is much better.

Mom has had some pretty high sugar and still been fully functioning and not aware her sugar was that high. She's insulin resistant and that complicates things. It got down to 139. She had to take insulin 3x to get her sugar down that low-- we spaced it out over the hours. Got her comfortable and lucid again.

It went back up to 205 this morning without having any sugar at all. But she was well enough to make jokes about how she only shows me her middle fingers to stick to check her blood sugar and she got up to go to the living room and sit in her chair to pay bills, play computer games, & watch Youtube for a bit. She was out there for a few hours while I took a much-needed nap. I was up most of the night checking on her and such and I moved some furniture to make it easier for her to get around in the living room.

Called the doctor this morning and they squeezed her in for an appointment today. I turned the truck around and got her dressed. Should be heading out in a few minutes. She at least ate some sugar free pudding- she hadn't been eating much. And I got her to take some of her morning meds. She hasn't been taking her meds since she got out of the hospital. Well, not regularly.

Her dog just climbed on my bed and is sitting on a throw pillow growling his head off about the existence of cats-- and its a new pillow so it doesn't squish the way his favorite one does. LOL.

Ok, I think it's time for me to get off my rump and see if I can get her out to the truck.

Doctors should make house calls like plumbers do.
They used to, when I was a kid. They charged a bit more, so we always went in... like if I stepped on a nail. It must have cost a lot for that tetanus shot, I remember my dad being mad about it. But I was little and just trying to help him do something.

Mom's doctor doesn't have time to make house calls. He's already very busy.

Had some ups and downs with Mom's sugar. It got down to 35 and I had to make her suck down an emergency glucose thing because she was barely conscious. Trying to find the right balance for her insulin. She had gotten up early and wanted to go into town and get a bacon egg & cheese biscuit from McDonalds. She then took insulin when we got home but must have taken too much. I told her not to take a full dose. I don't know how much she should be taking since I'm not insulin dependent. She sees the specialist on Wednesday.

She went to the urologist on Tuesday and was told that she had been in acute renal failure. So, that is one of the reasons she's struggling to recover. But she had a mostly good day once her sugar got back up. She went to the living room by herself, watched TV, ate some real food, and went back to her room on her own.

I had to go to the store but had to wait until my brother got home from work. Got myself a 12cuft poly dump cart for hauling trash and stuff. Passed a kidney stone. Cleaned the hallway. The other day I cleaned the cat fountain & changed the filter, restocked the bathroom cabinet with TP and wet wipes, took the trash out, etc. Need to get to doing some yard work before it gets too cold. And need to clean the front room so we can change the mattress on the bed for my sister so she can come visit. Got old chairs and other junk piled on top. Need to haul out the 230lb 58" Sony projection TV that has built-in speakers (although I want to take the magnets out of the speakers).

Took my friend to get his teeth pulled. He's already feeling better and back to work. He said when he's able to bend and lift again he'll come help with cleaning & yard work. I ordered my sister's Xmas present. She ordered me a new toaster and cover for the toaster.

I finally got enough sleep that I don't feel like I'm completely run ragged anymore. Not having to drive out to Eunice is helping me reduce stress levels.

Changed several new technology LED lightbulbs around the house guaranteed to last thirteen years under normal use that didn't. I seem to get about a year and a half to two years out of them. I want my incandescent "blubs" back! PS. The brand of LED light I am using in a good brand and the one that makes electric razors for men and women.

Passed a kidney stone !!! You say that like it's an everyday occurrence. That should have been very painfull, and maybe had more than one sentence devoted to it.
