I like a toaster oven myself, some things you just need to toast lying down. Like a single slice of pizza , or warming up an apple fritter, or 1 piece of chicken. But hard to beat a good stand alone toaster, that looks like a nice one. Would be Nice to have both, but to much counter space needed.
I have been hearing raves about air-fryers. Only problem here is my kitchen manager is highly sensitive about keeping her Cambria counter top free of objects! A significant boast of the AD is it will reheat items with no change in taste or texture One of my daughters is a huge fan!!

They are nice but dammit all they are hard to clean properly! Make sure the internals are stainless steel and not something else.

Yes. My manager doesn't want one either..... something new. She likes to stay with old and reliable. (Like me .... lol)

Yep, I tossed my toaster and replaced it with a cheap little toaster oven, where we can slow bake potatoes, cook a squash, re-heat leftover meat, etc. it also is nice for toasting long sliced french bread, but with my diet, I might have 1 piece of bread in a week. So far, I'm down 36 pounds, and from a size 40 to a size 36.

Very nice, bread will do it to you for sure, but I think the worst is ice cream.
I was 280 # , got diagnosed with diabetes, stopped all carbs , dropped 30# in a month... a pound a day. Within 4 months I was down to 199. Then, came the slow rise back... at 232 now. The diabetes dissapeared for about 10 years, but came back. Guess I'll have it forever now, so have to be careful .. I try, but between November and about now ... is hard. To much stuff I shouldn't eat.

From 280 down to 230, no, just cut the carbs out. Was real good the first 30 days. Very few carbs. Then we went to cracker barrel with some friends and they bought one of the big ice cream deserts. They gave half to my wifexand I had one spoon... after 30 days of almost 0 carbs...I went OMG... this is better than sex. But from 230 to 199, I was working from 6 am til midnight trying to build a set of kitchen cabnets... 100 degree heat. I ate very little and sweated a lot. I guess that was exercise of a type.. wouldn't reccomend that part. But cutting the carbs really pealed it off for me. Just very hard to do when you have a sweet tooth.

When you quit eating any significant amount of carbs after a few months you can taste the sugar in bread, milk or anything else you don’t usually associate with sugar or sweetness.

I quit eating anything with sugar added to it for about 3 years. A very strict diet, by choice. Very little carbs.

It was the best I’ve ever felt mentally and physically. In our society it’s hard to keep that up for long periods of time unless you eat and live alone.

@sawsaw yes, the toaster browns on both sides evenly. Although, if I butter it first the buttered side doesn't brown-- but I don't want it to brown. I like that side soft. If I don't butter first it's even. It turns out softer in the toaster than it does in the air fryer. I like my toast a little bit soft. It also takes less time in the toaster than in the air fryer.

I do love the air fryer. We can cook all sorts of stuff in it. It is a bear to clean.

My BIL used a toaster oven for a long time but he retired it when my mother sent an air fryer as a gift one year. He likes the air fryer for toast better.

I've got a rather large Cosori brand air fryer so it can fit pizzas.

Today I had the runs and nonstop coughing. Almost threw up from all the mucus. Took awhile for the Pepto to kick in. Had sinus headache so I had to nap. Still got that itching in my throat making me want to cough. Mom was uncooperative about letting me check her blood sugar. Her hands seem to shake too much for her to check it herself (and I suspect she just doesn't want to). She gave me stink eye a few times and argued with me. She refused to get out of bed until 7pm pretty much.

I missed calling my uncle (too late to call him now since he'll be sleeping). His oldest grandson was visiting him and helping him out when he first got out of the hospital but he had to go back to work in Maryland. My uncle lives in Virginia in an assisted living facility. He's really happy with how nurturing the grandson is. We comisserated about bladder issues and coughing.

Alarm just went off so its time to take my meds. Hope everyone is having a good year thus far.
