Yikes. This is an EXTERIOR wall & they cut huge chunks out of the studs near the bottom plate.

Also charred stuff pretty badly & no nail plates in sight on the electrical.

I'm no expert, but this doesn't look right. Should the solder be dripping down like that?

At the end of the day it's functional and allways better to have a full joint we're soldering

I am not a expert, but i wonder if you have a structure support issue now.
I doubt it- the sole has a butt joint between two joists and the lumber that goes across the joists looks like blocking, but it's still terrible practice even if it is common. My house had some similar stupidity before I fixed it by removing the old pipes and scabbing new stud material to the others- mine was in the wall between the kitchen & bath, so the studs were attached edge to edge, but they didn't use wider lumber at the bottom. My house was built and remodeled by idiots.

The structure is compromised severely & it is also a major building code violation. Those weren't notches, they butchered those studs. There's barely anything left.. And that size cut for such small pipe for radiant heating..

They have to drill through the middle of the studs and depending on the size of the stud, they aren't allowed to pierce more than a certain number of studs in exterior/load-bearing walls. The Romex is run all haphazardly & has no nail plates. This would absolutely fail inspection for sure.

The OP never said whether or not this "contractor" was licensed.

I’m tearing this tub, tile, faucet out. Removing the toilet, removing the floor tile and moving the toilet over to the right about 6” to center it. Installing a new tub. The tile wall surround is tile on drywall, all being removed.

Tile floor and tub surround install to be done by a tile setter.

Job starting in a couple weeks. My main concerns are dust control and protecting the customers floors. 41023D2D-619F-4A76-8F33-A232B4C01121.jpeg65037928-3EA0-4388-B76E-80FC61F843A8.jpeg0110CB24-6420-46F3-AC09-16F7DAE792CC.jpeg5831743E-716F-4EBC-8A88-557ABCCEBE36.jpeg

Twowaxhack, I hope the floor joists won't interfere with moving the toilet.
