Indeed. Just a couple of days ago they were priced at $20 per pound:

And to think I throw these things away each fall when I process a few of my ducks. 😆 Then again when I processed 10 of my young Roosters and askes my Mexican neighbor friend if he was interested in a few of the birds ? He declined and asked me what I was going to do with their feet? LOL

That's the paprika we used to get!! Mom got McCormick's last time and its still pretty good. Got a large container of it too. It's about halfway gone now though. The paprikash soup is in the pressure cooker right now.
My brother sort of randomly does the seasoning. Squeezes the paprika container like 12 times, adds some onion powder, sea salt, swanson chicken broth and then the veggies. He gets a California blend. It makes for decent filler and absorbs the seasoning well. I forgot to encourage him to add some minced garlic this time. I love garlic. I cut the chicken up (that's his least favorite part) so he would cook. He hates cutting the chicken up. I put on gloves and use scissors and then wash everything in hot water with soap afterward.

I'm going to try to convince Mom to let me clean up her desk tomorrow or later this evening once she's awake. I want her to look at stuff and tell me what can be salvaged and what I can trash. Her desk is so disgusting and it is ground zero for the roach infestation. We've made progress killing the roaches in the kitchen but the living room needs to be tackled next.

I tried playing a new (to me) game called Nightingale but it keeps crashing and last time it crashed my whole computer so unless they patch it with a fix I'm going to leave it alone. I was doing the singleplayer version but I might try it again if I can play online with my sister. I do really need to focus on cleaning the house more though. LOL.

Got up early and cleaned in the living room. Was going to do more cleaning but needed to rest and body is stiff and not cooperating. Broke up cat fights. Fed kitties. Went to the store, Picked up mail from post office. Unloaded & put away groceries. Cooked for Mom. Now I'm resting because my brain doesn't want to let me focus.

Mom has been borrowing my favorite gloves so I ordered her a pair of her own with a similar fabric. Mine were from a 99cent store in Houston 20+ years ago. Wish I'd grabbed more than one pair. The pair I got for Mom are a bright pink. Not quite as colored online but still vibrant enough that she'll be able to spot them on her desk. She likes them thus far. Her hands get cold easily.

Princess helped me with breaking up cat fights. She's a good doggy. Fippy is getting grumpier by the day. Gravy Jones (who got into a fight with Senator Snugglebum earlier) is sitting on me. His neck that got scratched/bitten is not as sore as earlier. I put some Bactine on it and that seemed to help.

I'm actually worried that Fippy is being so grumpy and not wanting to be petted. He used to love to be held and petted. Now he gets pissed off if I accidentally brush my hand against him when reaching for something. If I start petting him he snarls. He will randomly jump up and lunge at cats that are doing nothing. I hope its not because he's in pain or anything. Princess loves to be cuddled. If I say the word "cuddles" she will pop up and run over to me and climb on me. She'll smile at me and lick my face. She spends hours sitting on Mom's lap. Fippy used to like sitting on Mom's lap but lately he hasn't wanted to be held.

I was talking with Spicoli about the crime rate over here. This isn't where I live, but it's a place I've driven through multiple times. https://www.klfy.com/local/evangeline-parish/shooting-mamou-la-multiple-fatal/

People are idiots.

Maybe his eyesight or hearing is going and he gets startled and acts accordingly.

Fippy will sometimes sit and just growl continuously. And he'll leap and snap at shadows. Wish they had the tech to safely do cataract surgery on him down here. I heard they can do cataract surgery on dogs in Virginia at some big veterinary school. I always say his name before petting him so it won't startle him. He used to like being cuddled. At least he still wags his tail and is excited when I ask him if he wants to "go see mommy" or "go tv room". He used to get excited about going to the post office or going to see Cordell. Man, our late rottweiler would get so excited about going over to see our friend Cordell. He would get to sit inside, get petted, sit on my lap, and get fed table scraps. He weighed 100lbs and was such a gentle sweet boy. You could take food right out of his mouth and he wouldn't even growl.

Had to wash bedding this morning bc one of my cats decided to pee on my favorite blanket. It soaked through on to some other stuff. Got stuff in the dryer right now. Mom has requested that I go to the store to get more celery sticks since she ate an entire pack in 2 days.

Senator Snugglebum zerged into the living room when I was going in there this morning. I sat on the couch and called him over promising him I wouldn't throw him out of the room right away if he came over to me. So he came over hollering at me for attention (he's the one that could be heard in the video of my AC unit). He sat on my lap while I ate breakfast and watched Spring Baking Championship reruns. I carried him out with me when I was done and he's been much more relaxed and calm since then. He's napping on top of a box on top of my armoire.

I need to get my arse in gear so I can get the celery sticks and some sweet feed for the cows.

Probably any veterinarian school can provide the surgery and more than likely they will do it for gratis as they are looking for animals to practice on like dental schools do for the human animal.

Not down here. There's a dearth of good vets even at the vet schools. Also, at his age he's probably not a candidate. Any sort of medical care for humans or animals is charged up the wazoo around here. I suppose I could look around and try to find out.

I went to the store and got the celery. Bro came with so he ended up grabbing a bunch of extra stuff- including stuff I' m allergic to. Then he used my blender to blend up stuff I'm allergic to and now the top half of the blender is missing. No idea what he did with it. It wasn't in the sink or on the counters. He was making himself some salsa. Mom saw him about to put the stuff in my blender and told him not to bc she knew it was my blender and that I was allergic to it but he ignored her and did it anyway. So I'm slightly miffed. He has his own blender that hasn't even been taken out of the box yet. I think I'm going to ninja it since I don't know what he did with mine.

I took a nap after cooking for Mom and woke up dreaming about peeing into a plastic bag so I knew I had to rush to the bathroom when I woke up. fortunately I made it in time. It's only 70 inside but I'm drenched in sweat. at least my blankets still smell nice and freshly clean. Boo is sitting on me and not helping with the overheating problem.

I managed to get some sweet feed from TSC. I heard chicks near the feed section and went to go see them. There were some California Whites that didn't look so good. I'm sure at least one of them was dead. It was flattened with its feet and wings splayed out. A few more were not moving while others were running around stepping on them. I told the cashier and asked him to have someone check on them. Alleria is usually the slower one to get over to us when the feed is brought in but she was right there trying to eat the feed off the tailgate as I was cutting it open. Kwai is moving much slower and has lost a lot of weight. I've been buying her sweet feed and hay. May need to see if I can get the vet out for a farm call to look at her. She's way less alert and looking tired. But she is over 20yrs old now. I went out after cooking for Mom to go pet Kwai and sing to her. I scratched some itches for her between her horns and the back of her head right above her ears and she held her head down for me to do it. I sometimes see her trying to rub her head on shrubs to get small branches/sticks into that spot.
