That is what I used, and explained this to him. I just called the service writer, confirmed my car is inside the shop, out of the rain, and waiting on the new ECU, which will be picked up under warranty. It should take 1 week to get the new ECU and install it.

I'm going out on a limb and saying I have lost all trust in my Lexus. I believe I got a lemon. I love the Lexus brand, so I will be speaking to the GM and asking to work with me on taking my car in trade for the new RX500 hybrid F Sport. This is what my loaner is. It is a high performance car, still good gas mileage, but Tesla fast. I may spend more money, but I really don't care.

I had a great relationship with Lexus. I started out with an SC-400, moved on to a GS-300, then a GS-350, an SC-430 (that the guys on Top Gear called the worst car ever made) and finally an RC-F before I went with a Dodge Charger Hellcat. Now it’s two Jeeps and I am so bored!

Havasu gave a longer explanation of his dealings with the Lexus dealership on the homesteading forums and I would have been apoplectic in his position. Left the car out in the rain with windows down on their lot, said they were going to fix something but then changed their minds. Have had him jumping through hoops, waiting for response, arguing with him, and generally being aggravating.

blueskyhigh, my friend was able to reconnect the pipe for me. I'm hoping that I'll be able to work on it myself next time. On the loan, I'm pretty sure they want to make sure that the downpayment was not a loan and that he won't owe someone else money or that someone else can't put a lien on the house. I went to see it today and it is quirky but nice. Bathrooms and kitchen are outdated but have wood cabinets (not particle board). It was built in 1976 so it has those 70s colors. It has a few issues like a door that won't close because the door frame needs to be planed down. Weird stuff like a barn door that had the bottom cut off to look like a bathroom stall- I think for the feet of someone in a wheelchair so they could get close enough to open the door. Tons of grab bars in master bath. LVP buckling up in a spot in master bedroom. Some stained ceiling tiles. One spot with sagging ceiling tiles. A broken roof beam in the workshop-- which I think could be jacked up, sistered up with some 2x6s or 2x8s and some lag bolts. Friend is trying to get FHA loan I think since it is a rural property. People in the area have cows, horses, ducks, chickens, goats, and sheep. Friend wants to get a goat or two to help keep the grass/weeds down and wants chickens to get eggs. The barn there already has a brooder box. There's space for a garden and already has some weird squash growing. I got ahead of myself though. Yesterday was a pita.

I had an appointment at 8am to get my tires put on at Walmart. I'd paid in advance. I show up just before 8 and find out they canceled my appointment because the tires hadn't come in yet. They were on the 11am truck. I was told they would call me back when they came in. Around 1pm I checked the website and saw the tires were delivered but were not ready to put on and estimated time to put them on was next Thursday. So I called and they pulled the tires. Said earliest appointment I could get was 4pm. So I scheduled. I show up at 3:55pm only to be told the computer rejected my appointment but they would try to squeeze me in. Another woman came in after me who did not have an appointment and wanted one made and the clerk told her she'd have to be after me since I'd had an appointment and was there first. I gave the info needed and handed over my keys. An hour later my truck was still outside where I left it. I picked up Mom's prescription from the pharmacy and wandered around the store some more and spaced out a few times. Went back and checked. Around 5:50 I told myself I was going to request my keys back and leave if it wasn't ready by 6. The clerk who tried to schedule the appointment for me left for the day and a new guy came in and shuffled the paperwork for the jobs. I don't think he did it on purpose and I didn't notice it until I thought about it later, but he moved my paper to the back of the pile making it the very last job. I went and got something to drink and came back after 6 to find my vehicle was still in the same spot but no one was out to talk to customers in the auto department. So I sat and I waited. 6:45 rolled around and the clerk came back out and I was about to ask for my keys when I saw my truck being pulled in to be worked on. 7:20pm rolled around and a guy came out from the back to tell me one of my TPMS sensors was broken and they could replace it for $20. I know other places charge $30 plus labor so I said "Might as well". Truck was finished a little before 7:30. My brother called 2x while I waited saying Mom wanted to know when I'd be back and that she was hungry. She wanted McDonalds. So after I got my tires on I went and waited at McDonalds for 20min for my food, made sure they got the order right (and they did for once- the last 4x I went they messed up my order). Got home, gave Mom her food, fed kitties, and racked the hell out.

Today I had to give directions to an AT&T technician so he could find my house and waste his time checking my phonelines to see if the problem was on my end-- landline was out for over a week. He determined there was a break 6miles away. Said he'd come back in 15 to 20min to update me. 30min later he called on the landline to say he found the break next to the highway. Someone had opened the box and the wires were dangling in the wind. He had to put them back, reconnect, and put the lid back on properly. Sound quality is garbage but at least it rings.

Then I took my friend up to HomeDepot to get stuff for fixing up the new house. I personally think he should have waited until he had the all clear from the bank, but he wants to fix it up to pass inspection. Spent over $600 but used my ProX discount to get 10% (sales tax up there is 9.94% so it added most of it back) and I got points. I took him to the house to drop off supplies and he gave me a tour. I like the place but I totally forgot to look under the sinks. I will next time. I'll probably be painting over there soon. LOL.

Popped over to Walmart for a curbside order. Friend went inside to use the restroom and bought a bag of frozen sweet potato fries for Mom (they were not on my curbside order and she requested them after I ordered). Took friend back to his house, went in to chat with him & his wife and hug his daughter. She's a sweetheart. 4yr old came out and called me "gramma". I held Kelebrimbor for a little bit before leaving and immediately cooked fries for Mom when I got home.

I really need to get a new microwave but I'm worried the stupid roaches will destroy it. I'm still using roach tablets and some peppermint oil in places where we don't want the little buggers going but it doesn't work 100%. My brother watches them eat the tablets and says "Eat! Eat it you little f***ers! Eat it and DIE!"

Anyway, that was my day and now I'm curled up with kitties and I realized I forgot to bring stuff in from the truck.

I think, I'd want a whole new one.... just waiting for the old / good ones to fail and do another repair...
But then you probably can't get a new one, it would be rebuilt too... uuuugh.
The batteries are expected to last 8 to 10 years and 100,000 miles minimum. Again since at least the car for two years, it’s not a concern.

They are a bit coy on specs. The general agreement is that the motor operates at about 1500 W.
Trivia fact: The Tesla "S" battery system contains seven thousand one hundred and four, 7104, 18650 type batteries! This is the type I use in my flashlights. And here I thought the battery pack was something erotic! (That's a lot of connections that could go bad!)
