Thanks @havasu! One of the best in years! Still recovering from tryptophan "poisoning" and working on a list of New Year's resolutions that will be quickly forgotten.
As Homer Simpson would say.... " Mmmmmm tryptophan "
We had to postpone ours until next weekend, but looking forward to it !

What's that saying, "A man with more than one watch never really knows what time it is"? Well, my daughter gave me a gift of another goll-darned clock I have to set twice a year. It was made in Ukraine and, when I saw it, I thought immediately of @Zanne and her bevy of kitties who, no doubt, would have taken the clock out on first sight. See pic:

The satellites for my ISP are over Texas but I'm in Louisiana. Don't carry a rifle around, but do have my dad's old M1911.
I believe the deer that got hit was a young doe. No antlers. It was smaller than the first one so it was probably offspring or younger sibling.
The area where it happened is part of the Wildlife Reservation. No hunting allowed-- not that it ever stops the hunter from parking in the road, turning their dogs loose, and shooting down powerlines. They aren't even supposed to bring guns into the reserve but it doesn't get enforced.

Had stomach issues all day on Xmas and slept most of the day. Talked to my sister on the phone for a bit that day. Mom has been hacking up mucus so I got her some cough meds. Brother made an adaptation of her grandmother's chicken paprikash soup recipe. It's not as good as when Mom used to make it, but still pretty good. It's hard to find the Hungarian sweet paprika she used to get. She said something about making a roux with the paprika.

Took some structural screws over to friend and helped him a little on reinforcing a rotted jack stud on the doorway to the workshop at the place he's fixing up. Inspector is supposed to be back on the 8th. His wife's ex finally paid the car note so hopefully that won't be a problem. We still need to find out where he lives and get her a copy of the key in case he stops payments again so she can take the car back and sell it if need be. Either that or she needs to get it taken out of her name so she's not liable for it.

I feel like I am in a Twilight Zone of my own! The wife and I binge watched several episode so the 2019 incantation of Rod Serling's classic television series. After doing so, I decided I'd try and do a little troubleshooting on our relatively new GE washing machine. The machine has developed a slow "drip drip" leak on the cold-water side of things and I was thinking that maybe I could "shock" the valve back into working by using the auxiliary water dispenser on and off rapidly by setting it up and opening and closing the lid quickly which starts and stops the water flow when in the dispensing mode of operation.

I ran a quick "Drain and Fill" cycle which pumps out the water that I have previously put in and then spins things dry for about eight minutes. To my horror, after that short cycle was finished, the closed lid to the washing machine was absolutely covered in crap and the inside of the tub was also filled with much of the same cruddy material. Yes, I can probably understand how the stuff got into the bottom of the tub but I am unable to fathom how that material exited the tub and made its way to the top of the closed lid? I suspect I am living in the twilight zone but if any of you have any idea how the stuff got out of the tub and onto the closed top, I'd appreciate your thoughts. A pic of the crud on the top is attached.
