Hey so I’ve checked the pop up assembly several times and it’s bone dry. I’ve tried several water tests by filling up the sink to see if it leaks and it doesn’t. The rubber reducing gasket is upside down because I tried everything under the sun and it has all failed so I figured why not try it the opposite way to see if it would help. At this point I’m tempted to use silicone or something to try and seal the leak.Normally when water pools there like that it is a leak from the pop up assembly where it attaches to the sink, or from the pop up threads. I would check there first. The orange rubber reducing gasket looks like it may be installed upside down. The bevel should be facing the u bend. It also looks like you have an S trap which should be addressed also.
