I know it says that one can replace the guts on these mix valves, but is this in practice, a good idea?
If so, how often should this be done? How many times can it be done?
Should a plumber be aware of this, or is this an obscure or not preferred practice?
Recently had one fail and the plumber removed and tossed it and replaced it with a H & C valve.
The mix valve served to be used only to fill a turtle tank in the house.
It was picked off the supply lines to the clothes washer.
