I love my pets & could never give them up. The unhappiest I've ever been-- barring my father's death-- was when I had no pets. When my father died, my pets were the only thing that kept me going. I figured my mother could do fine without me but my pets needed me.

An M-14 looks mean I guess. LOL. Not sure how much it can fire. Honestly, I think banning guns is not going to help. Now, if they restricted ammo that would put a dent, but it would also make people very angry. But, there is no way to deal with the gun situation without making people angry.

I cleaned up a little more and am about to take my medicine for the night and see if my brother wants to watch the new Broadchurch episode with me. It's a very good show.

I have some type of virus. Not sure which yet, could be Covid.

Fever, chills, headaches, joint aches, stomach hurts……everything hurts. Zero energy, slept literally all day.

On a happy note, for me at least, is that the LG Dishwasher has been given a reprieve from going to the junk yard, a new lease on life if you will, due to yours truly's trouble shooting skills and my wife's keen ability to micromanage..

FINISHED the benches! Two coats of Cabot’s semi-transparent stain/sealer, untinted. Will have my neighbor get them today and now they’ll grace the table.

Nice! So what do they add to the mix to make it semi-transparent if not some sort of tint? Maybe they add some sort of liquid "cloud".

What you are supposed to do, if you choose, is to have this "base" tinted to the color of your choice. I chose not to tint at all since the underlying cedar has a lot of coloration and figuration and no need to add anything to this. The transparent stains are clear liquids with a bit of a dye color added. The semi-transparent stains have a pigment added. The solid color stains are basically very thick paint.

As this is wood furniture destined to live outside, I chose something you'd use on a deck.

Twowaxhack, I hope you get feeling better soon. That does sound like either flu or Covid. They sell Emeren-C in powdered packets you can mix with water and drink-- helps you stay hydrated and vitamin c is supposed to help.

Mitchell, that is a very pretty color on that wood.

I replaced all the burned out lightbulbs with new ones so its easier to see in living room and kitchen again. But I apparently didn't secure the ceiling fan globe properly and after 10min it fell and shattered all over. Spent a long time looking for splinters of glass to make sure I didn't miss any.

Took my friend for his dental appointment, then to samsclub, then to eat, then stopped at the bank. The idiots at the bank didn't change my brother's account number after it got hacked the first time. They then allowed someone to transfer all of his savings to checking and then use a deactivated debit card to empty his checking. So they got everything. They also linked Zelle to his account and overdrafted several hundred $. He has overdraft turned out so they aren't supposed to be allowed to do it. Bank majorly failed him. The lady there said it was a major screwup and she didn't know why no one caught it and why they didn't follow protocol. She closed his account, opened a new one, put him in for a new debit card, helped him secure his mobile app, and had him fill out paperwork to do a fraud dispute over the overdrafting, overdraft fees, & emptying of his account. He only found out because he checked his balance when he deposited his paycheck and found out the account was in the red.

We had a hellacious thunder, lightning and rain storm roll though about 10:30 last night. We got the severe weather alert an hour after the storm did it's damage.

Sorry to hear about the broken fan globe. That really sucks!

I used to think that way too until the lightning burned my house down. Now, when I see lightning, my mind flashes back to that night. Not fun anymore.

I hear you! Mother Nature is to be respected and not ignored. Even though there are many reasons to not want to live near the swamp, the fact that it has relatively mild weather with few hurricanes and tornados and no "detectable" earthquakes makes it palatable.

Lightning struck my parents house and blew a hole in a gas line which caught the floor on fire. My father put the fire out then smell gas, so turned the gas meter off.

Happened on an Easter Sunday morning around 11am. Just so happens they didn’t go to church that year, usually they went to church on Easter. If they hadn’t been home it would’ve burnt to the ground because of there location. No one would’ve seen it until it was fully involved.
