Gawd! I haven't been behind the helm of a boat/ship since I was in the Navy. I really miss it and should break some rust off the elbows the next time we go to a lake or river with rentals. It's just like riding a bike, right? The times in the sail loft doing repairs to the boats were great...stripping cleats, cutting and repairing cracks and making the boats look absolutely beautiful and smooth. The test runs afterwards, as well as running the VPs and PLs (36' boats) during operations overseas, was the best feeling in the world. You could really test the limits of a turbo-charged diesel engine in rough waters and that's exactly what they wanted you to do. Ahhh, the memories. Gotta promise myself some time at Cheat Lake or Deep Creek this summer.
By the way...swimsuit tryouts went great. Happy Tuesday to me.
