I just installed a whole home filter and water softener and there seems to be a pressure problem. The pressure relief valve on the filter keeps leaking and the softener won’t fill. I have replaced the old copper tubing with 3/4” CPVC leading up to the softener and going away from the softener.
My question is, does the water line AFTER the softener have to be the same size throughout the system? What I noticed downstream, is that the 3/4” CPVC reduces to 1/2” copper tubing again. I am wondering if this is causing back pressure to the softener and filter. Thoughts?
Thanks!
