Recently had a new sink installed by a handyman. There were issues with his install (leaks, slow drain, smell, and the dishwasher backed up). Following some rework, he left the plumbing in this state, without the high loop. After continued issues (slow drain, smell, standing water in dishwasher), I installed the high loop as shown in the photo and the loop is 33" above the floor.
I also snaked the drain twice to remedy slow drains, water backing up in the sink and foul smells. During snaking, I can smell sewer gas release inside and outside the house. Though I can't visually confirm, I assume that the p-trap vents to the roof as there is a pipe outlet on the roof and I can smell the gasses during snaking outside the house.
I am wondering if the high loop is still not right - is the high loop drain considered on the p-trap as it sits below the p-trap outlet? Do I need to move it up so it is above the horizontal on the p-trap outlet?
I still get some foul odour and standing water in the dishwasher, especially after not running for a few days.
Thanks!
