Hello experts..
Can some one tell what is this installed under kitchen sink. Image is attached. I have cold water and hot water. Why does it have 2 outer pipe connections into one?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Where the icemaker supplied from?
If there is a source behind it, what is its supply source.

Ice maker is inside the refrigerator and has its own supply of water. Kitchen sink is exactly opposite to refrigerator. There is no way these are related in any way. Looks as you said earlier the previous owner would have had some custom setup and had it removed it.

Take a pic with a wider field of view.

And also keep your mind open to possibilities, when they are suggested.

That looks like a cold water take off going somewhere.

Maybe it feeds a hose faucet outside, or in garage?

Or some kind of recirculation line.

Somebody's pathetic way of adding a branch.
Maybe icemaker nearby?
I agree that it’s for the ice maker. I’ve seen them piped like this so you can install an accessible filtration system under the sink for the fridge ice maker/water dispenser.

And yes, if there is a valve behind the fridge, this could b feeding that valve.
