Hello,
I have the following Moen showerhead and handle/valve in an older home that I own. The showerhead is leaking pretty fast drips indicating that parts on the moen cartridge inside the handle are starting to fail.
I have 2 questions:
I am not sure what type of moen cartridge I need to purchase in order to replace it as I don't know the specific model which i currently installed other than it is a moen. Would anyone be able to tell by the 2 images included?
Also, I do not know where the main water shutoff valve is in the old home, built 1949 with no basement, I recently purchased. Is it necessary to turn off the main water to the home when changing out these cartridge valves because there is nothing behind that to stop the flow of water correct? I'm used to working on toilets where the water shutoff valves is right behind the toilet but with showers, I'm not sure.
Thank you for any assistance.
Shawn
