Hi, the shower drain in my basement (currently cold weather in Canada) has standing water in it and I can't figure out how to drain it. I've tried Drano, boiling water and a snake but nothing seems to work. Anyone have ideas on what might be happening? We had a guest using this shower for 3 months and we are wondering if maybe there is a lot of hair buildup? Not sure. Thanks for ideas.

Is it in the entire trough or the trap?
The trap is supposed to have water in it. Hence the name "trap".
You should use those fixtures every now and then so the traps dont dry out and let sewer gas in.
