We are installing a new shower arm, and kept the Old Shower Arm plate, since it was larger and covered the original shower hole wall.

However the new shower arm is smaller radius, so I see a noticeable gap in the internal hole (green box). It isn't as snug as previous.
The picture quality isn't as good, however hole is little larger than seem enough for water prob to seep through.
We caulked around the edge outside. Should we caulk in the internal hole?

Should I use regular caulk gun, or expandible foam caulk spray (if hole is larger), or any other recommendation? Or not something to worry about?

Hole edge is lot larger than seems,

I am hoping that your picture is upside down.
Is the shower head really pointing toward the ceiling?

You can put some clear bath caulk around that gap.
Just buy the type in a squeeze tube.

Normally, there is almost zero chance of any water going in there.

But with your S shaped arm, some water might run back down the arm, so caulking is not a bad idea.
