Relocate Dirty arm into wall??

Hi guys, I am remodeling our kitchen and when I removed the cabinets i discovered the dirty arm was notched into the back of the cabinets. I would like to put it into the wall. instead of notching new cabinets. I understand the basics, cut out old fitting, hole saw through studs, put in new dirty arm and stub out.. Can someone PLEASE explain to me how do i reattach the vent to the waste line.. can I use a Fernco flexible coupling or is there some way to getting a regular hard coupling in there. Also I will be putting in an apron sink, and I understand that due to the depth of the bowl sometimes people have problems using a garbage disposal if the waste line stub out is not low enough,, My question is I know that there is a maximum height u can stub out the waste line, but is there a minimum? cant i just run my new plumbing as low as possible to make sure i don't encounter any problems with the garbage disposal. thank you!! -Rob

Hard to tell the pipe size from my device but if you are hooking up a disposal be sure to run 2" pipe

Thanks guys frodo I really appreciate your knowledge and help!! Run a 2" waste arm for the disposal? Why? Isn't it usually 1 1/2 is fine? I don't want to have to drill a 2" hole through the studs if I only need 11/2

Not only it is ipc code but I would recommend it any way, just so you don't have to cable the line as much, since you want to install a garbage disposal. Is that 2" abs below the tee? I you have slack in the vent stack then you can glue couplings but not a big deal if you can't. Furncos work fine if you can fit them in.

The main stack vertical waste line and vent is 2 inch the dirty arm is 1.5. I was planning to keep this 1.5. The main line will be2". Is this ok? I don't think I've ever seen a 2" stub out... But if that's code then I will do it. But I think 1.5 is fine for a disposal since I typically plumb sewage ejectors w 2 inch I can't see how's sink will clog with 1.5 if plumbed correctly. I'm glad I found this forum I really appreciate all the knowledge! U guys know ur **** pipes. Thsnks

There will be a dishwasher.. Dishwashers tie into the garbage disposal with like a 3/4 to 1" line. Why would the dirty arm need to be 2" for a dishwasher. Now I'm really confused ? Frodo if ur reading this post is 1,5 inch fine for the dirty arm?

Could it be that the original routing of the waste arm outside of the wall be possible freeze protection as it is an exterior wall?

no, it was so the 3 load bearing king studs under the window were not drilled.

if it were me. I would cut out the back of the cabinet, and run the pipe in the cabinet

just like it was.

We don't run 1 1/2" for disposals anymore because of constant blockages. Its not code yet, but new home inspectors here don't like to see it. All the times I've had to take traps apart and clean them and snake trap arms because of disposals, I'd be running nothing but 2" trap with a 2" trap arm.

How is the new way different from the old?

Most kitchen drain stoppages I clear seem to be at the end of the 2" lateral where the water flow has diminished and the goo has accumulated more over time. Not in the trap. I had a lady dump a whole bag of uncooked rice into the disposal. made it to the trap arm.
Then she poured liquid drain cleaner in behind it.
Cooked the rice right there in the trap, continuous waste and p-trap.

If you do drill the stud, drill through the middle with a sharp bit. check for nails. Don't notch them out. Use FHA straps instead of nail plates on the studs
