My friend got his new shower doors in. He needs to clean up the dripped caulk- he was exhausted and had drama going on.

Tom, I'm hoping the caulk was still wet when he took the picture. He was exhausted by the time he got to that point. He had to adjust the walls to make them level and plumb.

Havasu, I don't know, my brother has like 10 bottles of stuff in my bathroom. Multiple bottles of various shampoos, conditioner, body wash, beard spray, etc. I have two bottles- shampoo/conditioner combo and bodywash. I fully admit I might add some Noxema face cream in there at some point just because I like the scent. Mom used it when I was a kid so it brings back good memories. I had a jar that I would open just to smell sometimes. Plus bugs don't like eucalyptus much.

Remember this type of decor?

Someone on reddit posted a pic of their grandparents' bathroom. And I thought just having carpet was bad enough.

I found a whole website with this monstrous theme

My second childhood home was in a small town in Massachusetts, and was built in 1968. It had 2 1/2 baths. The primary bathroom had a yellow tile theme. The other main bath had a green tile theme. Finally, the powder room had a blue tile theme. These were tile colors of the era, and my mother had matching colored toilet paper and tissues for each of the bathrooms. Today you can not really find color toilet paper or colored tissues, but they were popular back in the 70s. Nothing quite over the top like the carpeted photos above but certainly nothing like you see today.

When we first moved here my bathroom had white tub, toilet and sink but beige carpet. Mom's bathroom had green tub, toilet and sink with beige carpet. Bedrooms, hallway, living room, and two bathrooms had that same carpet. Front room had plywood floors that were painted. Kitchen, laundry room, and guest bathroom had parquet wood flooring.
I'm going to have to put in blocking for the grab bars in Mom's bathroom. I know the vertical one outside the tub isn't supposed to go too low, but I'm going to have a 4' one there (it was going to go on the back wall but I realized it won't fit with the bumpouts on the surround) so if she falls down she can reach it to grab it and try to pull herself up.
To stay on topic, saw these in the store and want to see if the angle would be good for Mom (but it would be opposite).

I wonder what angle that is. I wanted to get out a level and a measuring tape to see the drop on that. The Moen Home Care grab bars shown are about the ones she has (but she has different lengths). Got the ones with curl grip. Her shower isn't that wide (couldn't make it wider than it was without obstructing the door). So her vertical grab bar will be on the wall just outside the shower.

That's a nice looking shower! The guy that installed my grab bars is also a Wetwall "Platinum" installer. I asked for a quote and I think he is a "Gold-Pressed Latinum" installer because he wants $15k and change to put one in my bathroom!

On the house we are redoing, I had crumbling septic risers, so I had the tank pumped and inspected. I considered doing this job myself which is hilarious once I saw them do it. Anyway, the guy did a great job and they were able to get 99.5% of the 40ish inch deep crumbling risers out without them falling into the tank (the risers which used to flush at grade) and now it is rough graded and the final riser will sit 6 inches above grade, as I wanted it. It was fun to watch a skilled operator of this little rubber tracked unit do some really precise work and make only the necessary mess.

Blueskyhigh, did the installer have gigantic ears and get disgusted at the idea of "females" wearing clothing? :p Probably following Rules of Acquisition.
Jeffrey, I didn't realize the risers could crumble. I'll have to check my own to make sure they don't crumble. Those lids are heavy AF. We have two of those cutouts on the porch as steps.

Yours are above grade, should
be fine, ours had a lid below grade and the years of water finding its way in from above and trickling down did a number on the concrete, the stack of risers was in jeopardy of collapsing and dropping the lid and the stack ito the tank!
