And I'm always thinking of the cost. My neighbor has an older electronic protection because his big family runs the well dry quite often, but he has to go downstairs and reset it manually.
The Cycle Sensor has a simple timer to restart the pump. It can be set for up to 5 hours. But normally they are set for about 20 minutes to restart the pump, which will usually at least let the toilets fill and small amounts of water be used without having to wait any longer.

I did try the switch with the little lever and it prevented the pump from coming on permanently. It would not work with the setup at all for some reason. The little lever had to be held manually to allow water to flow and the moment it was released it stopped the pump. Might not have been using it correctly though.

I'll have to figure out the best way to set up the Cycle Sensor and figure out how and where to install it when we work on more stuff in the pump house. Been busy with other stuff.

I forgot to mention that the repair guy did say the pump froze-- he said a LOT of people had the same thing happen to their pumps during that freeze.

You have to hold the little lever until the pressure gets up to 30-40, then you let it go and the pump stays on.

Ahh. OK. I did not know that. So we were doing it wrong. LOL..
On the cycle sensor, can it be pre-set before being shipped? And is there some sort of list of pumps and what the settings would be for making sure it shuts off when there is no water but not shutting off when there is water? Goulds J10S 1hp 230vac.
