Overhead Sewer Question

Hello,

I'm trying to render an overhead sewer design. I'll need to transition from 3" to 4" once I leave the basement wall through the sleeve. Do most folks make the transition after leaving the building wall or before? Also, can one of the pro's here make a suggestion as to what cleanouts I am missing? I am pretty sure I am missing at least 2 of them.

You will need to put a combo before it exits the building. 4 x 3 combination with a clean out on the end. That will cover your transition. You will need a clean out at every change in direction. Use 45s where you can instead.

Thanks. I will put in a combination wye (4x4x3) and repost another drawing later. Thanks for the recommendation on the 45s. I always thought that 22.5s were preferable to 45s. I am learning a lot here.

I think the 22.5 is a matter of option. I like 45s because the math equation is easier to me.

Here's a new rendering with a cleanout on a 4x4x3 exiting the basement and a set of two cleanouts once the drop has been made. Does this make sense?

I did a redraw with a single dual direction cleanout so that I have less piping protruding through the finish grade. Also, are there some cleanouts that make more sense from a maintenance standpoint? In other words, cleanouts that are most ideal for setting up a roto-snake?

The clean out would be bery messing if there was a back up. Transitioning at the top of the riser then putting a clean out in the vertical would be difficult to have clearance. You could put a wye in the vertical line with a clean out. I am curious to know what some of the other plumbers think, how they would pipe it. My methods are by no means the best or the only way. But it has to meet local codes. If it doesn't meet local codes then time and material is wasted. It would be great for someone else to chime in because I always love to get an education myself if I am in error. But the way you have it now would be typical of what I would be used to seeing.

So could I do this if I had the clearance? I guess the vertical line is a 3" line so this would theoretically still be the 3" PVC section. I guess I am just curious to hear what the best location for cleanouts is... and hopefully the design is sound enough to begin with.

The only thing that stands out to me are the two 90s between the clean outs. You can put a wye in the vertical for a clean out. I wouldn't say you are pushing a clog but breaking it up so it can flow naturally.
