new trap check

New counter, new sink. I cut out the old, glued-PVC trap and decided to go with a easily-removed threaded trap assembly.

New sink is slightly off center to connect the trap directly on the stub out line. Tried a 90-degree elbow and it all lines up perfectly.

Dry-fit photo attached. Is this okay? It's a standard elbow, not a long sweep. The latter would not allow for the alignment I have now. Is the trap-arm length adequate? I am assuming the arm length includes the bend.

There's an atmospheric vent in the wall, so that's why no cheater vent.

Thanks. Wouldn't a long sweep 90 be the same as two 45s? Problem is I would now have to finagle the trap to align with the tailpiece.

Also, since the pipe is smaller than 2 inches, wouldn't any quarter turn elbow be okay, even horizontal to horizontal? Or allowed, at least?

If you start at the wall with a couple of fittings.. And swing the trap to meet the angle it will work better and no not long sweeps in this case 45°,22 1/2, no 90°s

Thanks again. Gonna try and sketch that. It's not clear from the pic, but there's only about 4 inches or so of pipe coming out the wall. Scared to cut it back much more.

What you have will work, the concern with a 90 is its harder to snake through. I would use just a street 45 and swing the trap to line up with the drain.

Try what greynolds suggested believe it or not 4" is a lot of pipe to work with street means there's only a hub/socket one end
So your offset can be shorter
