My apartment recently “upgraded” my kitchen sink by changing the aerator. It is very annoying and I would like to change it back to the old piece that they left behind (see attached photos). I have tried unscrewing it but can’t figure it out, there is also no brand name for me to look up. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

It unscrews counterclockwise. Then screw the new one in clockwise.. Did they leave the whole
aerator with the threads and all on the old one?

It unscrews clockwise if you leave it in the holder with the flow pointing toward the sink.

If you pull the head out and point the flow toward your face it would unscrew counterclockwise.

So the direction it unscrews depends on how you’re looking at it.
