Have you see type of pipe before?

We bought our house last year. It’s 100 years old, runs off a well, and the majority of the plumbing was updated to plastic give or take ten years ago.

I’ve had two joint blowouts in less than a month.

First- these are pretty epic failures. What causes blowouts in the pipe AND the fittings?
Second- has anyone seen this type of green pipe before? I’m trying to remove as much of it as I can, but I want to clarify what it is so I use the correct cement and avoid any more joint failures.

Looks like you need to just cut all that out and start over. Videos not playing for me, just going by the pics.

I assume the person who did that work wasn’t up to date on their plumbing game.

There's green "furniture grade" pvc (NOT for water lines!). There's also green polypropylene products out there, but it's really not common in the states, as far as I know; at least not in residential stuff.

Look for any markings on the pipe. If there's 0, it very well could be that decorative pvc.

People have got to stop hiring the cheapest person they can find. That is dangerous to the health of people doing stuff like that. I am not saying this was you OP. I would get someone in there that is legit and rip all that out.

I pulled out the last piece under the house.
“Red Dot” brand?
The markings wore off all the other pieces I could find. I hope there’s no more under ground!
