I removed a unit from my shower cabinet used to hold shower gel and shampoo bottles and the silicone behind it has what I can only describe as frayed edges compared to the rest of the silicone in the shower which is completely smooth. Has anybody any idea what would cause this and is the sealant compromised in this area hence needing replaced?
