How can I remove the anti scalding feature thats built in the Delta shower cartridge or do they have a cartridge without a anti scalding feature.

Depending on the cartridge series I have been able to pull the "pressure balancing" spool out when busting open the cartridge. I don't remember if I ever got it back together. so long ago.
The Anti-Scald on Delta is just a grey plastic ring on most modern fixtures, but that ring also helps keep the valve from over-rotating. Anti-scald ring is adjustable.

Thanks, but that wasnt my question
Most are built in, You would have to order a new shower valve without the antiscald feature. Note, the anti scald feature should still allow you hot water to reach 115F- Max out at 120F. If you water is not reaching temperature of 115F, replace the cartridge, as they are designed to Fail Cold.
Meaning if your shower is not getting hot anymore, the cartridge needs, cleaning or replacing, that's the antiscald feature.

Delta does make a style of single lever shower cartridge that isn’t pressure balanced.

I’ll look up the model number for you. It may or may not fit the style trim you currently have. If it’s a newer Dekta valve, it will for sure fit the valve.

O.P., could *potentially* get a cross over connection from this though if i'm not mistaken.
Im more curious on why he wants a Non anti-scald valve, If its a lack of hot water, no need to swap the valves.

Nope, there will not be a cross connection.

I don’t care why he wants it, I’m just giving him info he asked for. I’m not invested in trying to figure out what he’s doing.

Wasn't sure on the non balancing valve if the pressure difference is big enough, that it could cause the the hot to go over to the other side or not when the faucet is opened.
You generally give solid info.

Pressure is different is big enough? What do you mean exactly?

Pressure balancing, this means when you use another fixture in the home the water mix stays consistent and pressure doesn't drop when in the shower.
Example toilet or washing machine is using cold water at the same time as the shower it will get hotter because it's cold water flow has decreased now it's feeding two or more fixtures and it's tempure setting is not throttled.

This is a downgrade, not an upgrade if you are successful my friend.
Sounds like there's an underlying issue you need to solve and this retrofit to your existing valve isn't it sir.

Thanks for the info. I will give this a try

Im trying to get more hot water from the shower. I already have the anti scald setting as far to the left as it will go and the hot tank set at 140. There is hot water coming out of the kitchen and bathroom sink, but not hot enough from the shower.

There is still cold water mixing at your shower you faucet you are able to turn on just the hot side of push the single handle to the hot side, have you measured the temp to see what your getting at the shower????

Shower cartridges even with anti scale should reach 115°F, they're designed to fail cold.

So once the shower starts getting cold, the cartridge needs to be either cleaned or replaced.

115°F is plenty hot. But hopefully you get the desired results.

Keep us posted.
My personal tank is set at 160°F.
Shower still won't come get hotter than 115°F thanks to the anti scald. I typically like 105°F when I measured.

Keep us posted, good luck

You have a problem and it could be as easy as replacing the cartridge with another one just like you have.
