Closet bend or are other bends allowed?

Does there always have to be a closet bend with a toilet,
or are any bends allowed to make the connections?
ie, 90 elbow, two 45's, etc.

long sweep or 2, 45 degree bends are fine

Is a 90 OK as well. Though I have not done a side by side comparison ,
to me a 90 looks almost the same as a closet bend.

A standard 90 is okay. Just don't use a VENT 90
