I wasn't sure which forum to ask this question but I assume since I don't know what the item is I would put it here in the "plumbing products" section.

I am curious what this piping is probably for? (the red/orange one). It's small in diameter (the white PVC next to it is 1/2 inch for scale. So I assume it's only 3/8 inch or so. I have never seen anything like this in our out of my house before. It's about 20 to 15 inches under the ground. I did see a few old copper 3/8 lines inside the garage for gas but I had assumed this old house had a propane tank outside. There was never a gas meter that I know of.

It's not a utility company or gas line, is it?

If it's a water line it could be Kitec. In my area communications uses orange poly pipe.
