I have an outside water faucet, most likely from the early 60's, and the male thread is not the same thread as my host connection. Is it possible to get a threaded adaptor for it?
They seem to be machine thread but a different pitch.I have an outside water faucet, most likely from the early 60's, and the male thread is not the same thread as my host connection. Is it possible to get a threaded adaptor for it?
If you could take a good close-up picture of it and post it, along with an accurate diameter we might have some idea. It could be 1/2 or 3/4 npt, or maybe part of the faucet is missing.
Ok, I will do that, it does seems shorter than normal. I tried a 1" female fitting but it wouldn't thread.
Its a one way valve to prevent back siphoning through a plumbing system. The type I’m speaking of screws onto a hose Bibb faucet. That doesn't look like it. But what is a 'vacuum breaker' and where would it be used? Thanks
I have installed that type, there appears to be a broken off set screw (designed to break) to prevent them from being taken off.
