So, I live on a rental property and help the owner with fixing stuff. Yesterday the well on this property stopped pumping water. I go to check the well and the pressure switch is clicking nonstop. So, I shut the power off to the well. I go to our local Home Depot and get a new pressure switch install it, get the water out of the pressure tank and check the air pressure in it, and added air to make it 28 PSI, 2 psi lower than the new switch. Now I let the well fill the bottle and build pressure all the way to 30 psi on the pressure gauge. Then I walk to the other houses on the property and make sure the water is working in all the homes and we are cool it is flowing to all the homes. Now I go back to my place, and I fall asleep for a bit, it was very hot outside. I wake up at around 5pm and walk to check the well again. And when I look at the pressure gauge it is at 0 psi! So, I go and open the closest hose bib, and the water just trickles out. I don't know what the issue could be now unless the tank bladder is bad, but the tank is not filled with water. Do I need to play with the pressure in the tank more or is the submerged pump shoot? Please need some help here ASAP there are children living in 2 homes and it gets very hot without a swamp cooler running here.
Sorry info on the well: It is a deep well, I think 2hp pump in well, no jet pump up top just the pressure tank and switch. Well also have a control box on top of well head.
