Waterdrop Water Filtration Installation

Hello,

I am ready to install a Waterdrop TSU 0.01μm Ultra-Filtration Under Sink Water Filter System. I have these pop out plastic shut off valves. I am trying to figure out where I remove the connector for the feed water adapter. Do I remove the brass nut or the one above it for the feed adapter to go in between?

The chrome nuts unscrew while you hold the brass piece stationary.
