Hello all,
New to the forum, thank you in advance. My wife and I purchased a house about 3 years ago that has a water softener. It was inactive (unplugged) when we bought the house and the water was turned off to the pipe loop, not just the by pass valve. My plan is to scrub the brine tank, iron out the resin tank and fix any parts that may be broken. My initial concern is that there is a bacteria build up in that empty pipe loop. If I attempt to clean and fix this water softener and turn the water back on to the loop, should I be concerned about contamination?
