We live in a Rural Setting (Well & Septic) Hardness & Iron Content is a Big Issue.. We just recently had some Filters changed out (Reverse Osmosis).. At the same time Adjustments were made to the Settings that control the Re Gen cycle on our Water Softener.. Problem is trying to understand How Tech arrives at the numbers he sets the Re Gen at.. Water Softener reacts differently to new settings (Tech Doesn't live Close By).. Previous Settings were 775 gallons / 14 Days , which ever came first (5 weeks to go through a Bag of Salt) New Settings 1350 gallons / 7 Days ( Salt taking twice as long to Dissolve) We wait till Water pokes through the top before adding new Salt, Unit has an Automatic Resin Dispenser.. Under new settings the Salt level & Resin level goes down.. Days prior to all this we had been using Windsor Salt Pellets, due to the Strike and Depleted Stocks were forced to switch to Sifto Salt Chyrstals .. Don't know if that would have any baring on Salt Dissolving ??
