Hello,

I have a question about a P-Trap for a tub. This picture isn't the greatest, but the P-Trap is higher than the pipe it will be going into. This is also an older picture and pipes have been ran where the pipe leading from out of the P-Trap goes to a combination and drops into the other pipe. Don't know if this will create an S-trap or not. The bottom of the out coming pipe from the P-Trap is about even with the top of the 3" pipe that it goes into via the 2x3x3 wye and 45.

You will need a vertical, or no more than 45 degrees off vertical, vent between the P-trap and the point of entry into the drain line. And the entry into the drain line would be best from the top or at an angle into the top side. And there is a distance requirement between the P-trap and the vent base on the pipe size and the code in which you are under. Without the vent, you do have an illegal S-trap.

Thanks for the reply. I corrected it. Thanks again
