Cincinnati,
we have a master bathroom that is back to back with our kids bathroom. toilets and sinks literally back to back sharing the same wall for the plumbing.

last couple months the one toilet has been clogging. granted th kids use too much TP but even when they don't it seems to clog easily. In addition, it seems like when h master bath flushes it seems to pull water from the bowl of the other. And the master one, an older original kind that used to flush great just seems like it's flushing slower with less force.

best way to begin diagnosing?

thx

I have the exact same "back to back" set up. When I have water fluctuation on one side when the other side is being flushed, for me it is time to snake out the main line.

Thanks for the reply. by main line does that mean main where they meet in main upstairs or does main mean the under basement segment and out to city sewer? We had main underground to street scoped last summer and being original 30 yr old clay pipe it was showing some slight blockage and roots. So hoping it's not blocked or collapsed that deep and main, in this case, might just mean main from floor 2 down to basement :)

I'm guessing the roots are beginning to obstruct the flow of sewage. The only way to confirm is another scope job. What did you do about the roots in the clay pipe when you saw them initially? If they were only cut out, they can easily re-root in that amount of time.

We didnt do anything Im sorry to say. Will schedule a cleanout today. So Im trying to picture this. If the main line to street is not flowing well, does that mean my vertical stack is packed full to top - causing the toilets to flush but have no where to go?
