Hi there!

My condo was built in about 2006. It has two Mansfield toilets. In the past several months, the toilets have been flushing poorly, and have to be plunged frequently. The water levels in both tanks are where they should be.

What could be causing this issue? I'm a plumbing novice and could really use some help.

Thank you!

take the tank cover off and watch them flush
anything different being flushed,i know i have seen a lot of wet (flushable) wipes causing issues.....they are not flushable , and don't break down....
has the handle loosened up....

If it is clogging inside the toilets only and not the drain line, then lilely/possibly: Depending on water quality/minerals, it is very likely that there is mineral precipitate that has built up on the porcelain lining the hidden toilet trapway.
Replacing the toilet is the primary way to deal with that.

it‘s a Mansfield....they are notoriously poor flushing toilets. Replacement is the best option.

Flush your poop, wipe up, then flush again.

Problem solved.

You also might be eating more greasy food or junk food during covid stress, those poops are prone to clogging.
Eat more salads or fiber.

Thank you all for your replies.

I haven't flushed any "flushable" wipes.

I'm bummed to hear that I may have to replace my toilets. Is there no way to get the toilets to flush well again?

I just remembered - on one of the toilets, I had to shorten the chain connecting the handle lever to the flap. Could that cause a problem?

As breplum mentioned above, mineral precipitates may be the cause for your problem. I experienced on several toilets that the syphon hole, which is roughly 3/4" diameter was completely plugged with mineral deposits and had to be chiseled out. Also the small holes at the underside of the rim are prone to plug up and can be cleaned out with coat hanger wire. This will however not bring the toilet back to its initial condition, so, as he said, replacing it with a new one is recommended.
