I installed a American Standard Champion 4 Max a few weeks ago in an elderly woman's house. She is a larger lady and today I recived a call from her saying that she sat down to hard and water started coming out of the tank. She thinks she cracked the back of the tank. I think she is now unhappy with the toilet and wants to go pick one out with me. What toilet should I be looking for, or what should I be looking for in a toilet for a woman like this? She doesn't want a handicap one. I am a bit out of my league with this and not sure what my next step should be. Thanks for taking the time to read this over!

Any tank will crack if the user flops down on it hard enough. I'd recommend installing handicap railing around the toilet and demand she uses it. If not, you might consider a stainless steel set up like the jails use. They are pretty indestructible.

Thank you for your response. I am thinking your on the right track here.

If she is obese check out the Maximus Toilet ( also know as the Great John Toilet). They are a little pricey.

Is it possible to hook up a tankless commercial type toilet in a house or are they plumbed different? I think that may be a good replacement?
