Hi,

I moved into a rental house, and the toilet in the master bath is cracked all the way around the base. I was just wondering if this is dangerous or not? I have mentioned it to the landlord several times and received no response. I don't mind it at all as long as it is not dangerous. Just wondering. I would appreciate any input. Thanks so much.

Not dangerous at all if your idea of a good time is getting your backside sliced up by razor sharp shards of broken ceramic...

At the least this toilet is going to fall apart and cause major leakage and the resulting damages could be extensive. They need to replace the toilet ASAP.

I wouldn't even sit on that toilet.

Like SHR said, if that decides to let go while someone is sitting on it, they will be cut up bad by pieces of porcelain I'm sure are loaded to the gills with bacteria. Infections and health concerns follow.

If no response, I would replace the toilet myself and deduct from the rent you pay.
