No, what I am saying is that the higher pipe of the two with the "maybe" AAV can be the wet vent for the lower trap.

Only if the pipe after the AAV is 2" can it be a wet vent. serving as a drain for the 2nd sink and vent for the lower original drain.

I wonder if that argument would fly with an inspector.

FRODO, Yeah only one trap on a trap arm. UPC is clear. I was pickin' at Phish and what I found in the IPC Florida Code. What do you make of the snip I posted above about 2 p-traps highlighted in the blue?

That looks like it says I can double trap with a common vent DOWNSTREAM of the interconnection of the 2 traps.

yep, you are correct, it is allowed in the ipc

but, that is not what the goober did.

ipc definition of a fixture drain
the drain from the trap of a fixture to a junction with any other drain pipe

I am going to call that trap arm

fixture branch definition

a drain serving 2 or more fixtures that discharge to another drain or stack

I submit, he has overstep the code by connecting a fixture branch to a fixture drain /trap arm

when he added a vent, it is no longer a trap arm, it is a branch up to the vent and a trap arm after the vent

you agree ?
