Live in S. Louisiana. House is about 25 y/o brick on slab. I have a dbl. kitchen sink with disposer on Left.Kitchen sink doesn't drain. Both sided stop up. If I put the drain plug in the Right sink & turn the disposer on, the Left sink will drain quickly. When I then remove the Right drain stopper, the water level equalizes in to both Left & Right sinks. I can repeat the process untill all water is out.
When I run the dish washer, whish is connected to the sink drain, the sink fills up when the dish washer cycles it's draining phase. Again, I close the Right & run the disposer for the water to quickly drain.
If I do this several times in a row, I can notice a little water seepage on the outside of the house, at the kitchen sink area & is coming from between the lowest brick & slab.
I have tried very hot water sitting in the sink. I have rented drain snakes that I can't seem to make go more than about 10 ft. I've rented power drain snakes with no results.
There was, at some point before I purchased the house, a patio slab poured at the area of the kitchen sink. It is tight up against the house slab. I am guessing there may have been a drain access there that was covered. But I'm not sure.
HOW CAN I FIX THIS PROBLEM???????
Thanks
Mike

Welcome Mike,

Sometimes you just need to bite the bullet and hire a professional. A plumber with a long reaching snake and if this fails, a camera to see if your sewer line has collapsed. The small amount of money spent to clear your lines will allow you to enjoy the rest of the holidays with no frustration.

Yup. You've got a broken/rotten line. Pretty common with kitchens too. Plain ol bathroom poo is much easier on the drains.

Hope for the best plan for the worst --- The best would be a leak on the waste arm inside the wall, the worst will be a repair/replacement under the slab. Stay away from drain cleaners and call a professional as the others have stated.
