I have a Fluidmaster 400 series toilet fixture. It's leaking. You'll see these things in the attached pictures. I got a flapper from the hardware store but it doesn't seem to be long enough.

What kind of flapper do I need? Is there something else I have to do?

Hard to tell from your picture, but you seem to have a 3 inch flush valve.
Not sure, your blurry picture is dark and iffy.

And too zoomed in.

The flapper you have there looks to be for a 2 inch flush valve.

Looks like it might be a Korky brand.

Send a pic of the info printed or molded into the inside wall of the back of your toilet tank.
It will show model number, and probably year etc of your toilet.

You should also see a brand name printed down near the toilet seat hinge.

Post all that info here, with clear pics of everything.

That will tell us exactly what guts your toilet should have, to fix it up right.

At the very top it says T75, that got cut off in the picture. Thanks for your help!

Looks like it is Kohler k3434.
They have some differences and parts changes over the years.

Yours looks to be made in 1994.

Call Kohler customer service, to get the right flapper info, or to buy one from them.

Also, sometimes there is a little plastic rod that can be snapped or slid into higher or lower slots, which the flapper then clips on to.
The higher or lower slots are to adjust the flapper so it sits properly over the seat of the flush valve.

There are at least 3 Kohler flappers that are similar to yours, but have slight differences.

Call Kohler for the correct part number, and they also are good at giving install help.

Thanks Jeff. I called them and ended up getting the
Kohler GP83064 Toilet Flapper, 2 In, Red
Thanks for your help!
I'll install it tomorrow.

There should be good simple instructions, with a diagram, on the back of the package the Kohler flapper comes in.

PS I call that type of flapper a Star Trek flapper.

To me, it looks kinda like the Enterprise space ship, haha.
