I'm replacing the bathroom sink faucet. I've removed everything but the drain. I've loosened the nut holding it tight to the sink and loosened the nut holding it in the PVC. The problem is the drain is still too long to remove from the PVC or the sink. Am I gonna have to hacksaw the PVC or should I raise the sink from the vanity? Any better ideas?

Does the sink have an all glue trap or something? If it does, cut it out and use a plastic tubular jamb nut trap.

Depending on the make of the drain body, you might be able to unscrew the tailpiece out of the body and get it apart that way. Me, I would cut the trap out and put in a tubular trap with slip joint connections so that it is easy to get apart in the future.
