Shower Handle Leaking

How do you remove this cartridge?

I am looking for a nut or a pin and I am having no such looking trying to remove this. Maybe this one has a special trick to release it?

I am thinking about replacing this to see if the leak will stop.

Any other suggestions?

That’s a Delta 1400.

The cartridge nut is here.


Use a rubber jar opener or rubber gloves to grip it with just your hands.

If you use channelocks be sure not to squeeze but rather grip and turn.


Sometimes they must be cut off

Thanks for this, super helpful! I also found a few videos on youtube and you saved me I don't know how much time trying to figure out what replacement part to purchase.
