Shower Cartridge /Replacing and still leaks

I replaced our moen cartridge last week, no drips for about 3 or 4 days then started dripping again from the tub spout. Replaced it again yesterday with a new one and tested it by letting it run and turning it off, no drips. This morning when I turned it off after my shower, it was dripping from the tub spout again !!! Am I missing something when I put it in ? It has to be all the way in as I could not push it in any farther with all my strength. Just frustrating
