Hi all,

In the picture attached, you can see that I have a handful of rusty connections only in the joints of the pipe coming off of my hot water heater. Any thoughts on whether this should be addressed proactively and why?

Thanks!

More pictures attached. Not sure which valve you are referring to. The one going into the heater looks fine. All connections on the exit side and beyond are rusted on joints only.

If you wanted it to look nice sure go ahead and replace it but other than that no need.

The pipe is typically coated. The fittings are just oiled. This is normal. If you are worried how it looks you can brush it off and give it a coat of paint.
